I have been here several times and here is my experience(s): (experiences went from pleasant to utter rude, and horrendous/bad customer service)
1st time: Great and helpful as I was building another PC and needed quick parts. Asked if I didn't need the parts if I could return then and they were totally ok with it and said yes.
2nd time: Were not very helpful as I was looking to return some RAM that I did not need actually and asked what I would like to do, I said politely I would like a refund as that's what they said I was able to do. Then tells me we don't do that and can only give in store credit.. So now I'm stuck with over $100 of store credit.
3rd time: I go back to buy anything I need for my set ups to use store credit and some, starters one associate was going to order me a monitor and get it here so I could buy through them, then the manager quickly says no and tells me to go buy something they have. (I didn't want their product they had in stock) He was very rude and insisted it was better even though I knew the difference between the products. Yet again left without anything.
4th time: I am back to give them another chance, looked for monitors again but higher end ones, the associate was uneducated on the products and also just was giving me the feeling I was an inconvenience for him to help. Basically telling me to Google the product. Then I go to ask about their Gaming Chair they carry (GTRacing) and they told me it's roughly $199, not even an exact amount. The same product is $159 off GTRacing direct website, I asked politely if they would price match it since that's from the direct website and quickly said no, can't. Why do they not? It is because it takes 3 associates to build 1 chair is what the manager said. I then asked if they can sell me one in the box and said no we sell them assembled hence the $40 upcharge and they have none in their back so it would actually be the floor model that they sell you, that all their customers are trying out and sitting in. So if you're in the market for a $199 +tax USED Floor Model GTRacing chair, go for it.
The service has slacked each time it shows they don't care about their customers and are quick to take your money and not be in your beat interest for your needs. Their product is the only reason I give them some kudos and 2 stars and even still it's still meh. If you're looking for top tier product, you won't find it here but if you're looking for overpriced mid tier product, low end product or out dated product that is too expensive and bad customer service you will find that here.
I do not recommend buying products here and instead find it online and take the time for the delivery. They will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have brought my computer to this place before and was happy with the service, I don't know what happened recently but this place absolutely blows now. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME AND MONEY
I went because my computer was experiencing graphical issues and I didn't know what the problem is, I turned it into the shop and paid $100 for the guy to look at it, standard fee for checking computers which is fine. I wait a couple days for my computer to be fixed since it was after Thanksgiving they give it back to me. Apparently I had no thermal paste and they applied some, cool. I experienced small issues here and there when I got it back but didn't think much of it.
But it got way worse when I came back from my trip. I open up my computer to check on the thermal paste and my god it's awful how they applied it, not enough paste and there was bubbling/air gaps. Not to mention, the issue with my computer wasn't even the thermal paste alone, my graphics card or motherboard is dying but they didn't do any testing to figure that out, didn't check to see if it worked or anything bc they would've absolutely knew instantly something was wrong.
I then call up mpc knowing that it was over a month since my visit, I just wanted them to look at the thermal paste and tell me it was or wasn't enough, they didn't need to tinker, or touch anything. I was literally going to open up my computer and show them and wanted their opinion. I would've bought thermal paste right then and there and left too. But no, they wanted $100 just to tell me whether or not they put enough paste on it. Like WHAT?? Why would I pay $100 for a yes or no answer that would take 2 seconds??
Overall, bad lazy service, they didn't fix my issue and it actually got worse, and they're scummy thinking they deserve another $100, for what? So they can just look at my computer and say "ehrm, there is no problemāš½š¤" I've paid for their services in the past and they've all done so well and actually were helpful and broke down what the problem was, I'm not sure what happened to the place but they fell off hard. This was a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhile I have been working from home during the pandemic, like many others, I also took it as an opportunity to build a nice gaming PC, and luckily, I did it right before the prices of GPUs shot up astronomically.
Anyway, fast forward to Tuesday 3/15/22, I wake up and try to game a bit before I have to work from home, and low and behold, my 2060 Super GPU was bricked. After trouble shooting & ascertaining that it was the GPU for sure, I became very distressed because I knew that not only at GPUs obscenely expensive at the moment, they're also incredibly difficult to find. Luckily for me, I was able to find MPC Electronics in Chula Vista, and after calling Tom & asking him if they had any pre-owned older generation GPUs, he told me they had some brand new 3060 TIs... at prices that were right in line with what the market has dictated.
Tom was incredibly informative, helpful, and offered to hold the 3060 TI for me while I had to drive through rush hour traffic.. and he even dropped the price of the card for me. I don't understand why there are some reviews that are bombing them for selling the GPUs at "scalper" prices, that is just the world we live in at the moment - finding a 30 series RTX card at MSRP is impossible.
While I would have rather paid MSRP for the card, Tom was extremely reasonable with his price, and on top of all of that, he was a great person to give my business to. For his service & pricing alone, I'll be going to MPC Electronics for all of my local gaming...
