Ran the 25th one for my 25th one. Worse course ever. Never ending hills, and the biggest ones were early, which destroyed me for the rest of the race. I think it would have been better backwards. Support at every mile was fantastic and crowds were constant, even though it pored most of the race. The race organization throughout was exceptional until they stopped the race 5 miles in because of the storms and held everyone for 30+ minutes. That was after they announced at the start they were leaving it up to us to make the adult decision. They loss another star for the extra half mile, published, to ensure Boston qualification, so the course was 26.7. The finish line was not visible until you were on top of it which I hated. The Swag was good although i would have paid an extra $10 buck for a race shirt that wasnât cotton. Race photos were blurry and only at the finish line. Not a fan of the relay teams flying by everyone screwing with our pace, or the support crew on the bikes who came up behind you yelling on your left, as if they had priority on the course. The city was filled with beggars that came at us constantly including while dining on a sidewalk cafe. It was a great sport town if you like baseball but not for marathoner. Would do it again even if pig...
Read moreWonderful organization, was so glad I was able to do the race this year. I love what they do for the children. The 26 mile race is an awesome idea. My daughter began training at the end of Feb. & trained two day's a week all the way up until race day. They get all they're miles in during training & on race day they do the last mile (26th mile). So proud of my 9 year old little girl, she ran the whole race while mommy had walked. She got involved with physical activity & now really enjoys running. Definitely keeps the kid's away from the electronics. Can't say enough about this...
Read moreI never took place in the run, I'm not competitive, but I've run the entire race on a regular basis for years. Of course I changed it, to challenge myself but l basically ran the same difficulty level. With all the hills, you have to really know when to slow down, speed up, fuel your body, and no what surfaces to hit and how, make sure your shoes have only been worn several times because the weather and surfaces are...
