I went here for the first time today. I believe in being truthful and fair in my reviews, so here it goes. The Positive My catfish was cooked to order and was very fresh and hot when it came out. The seasoning was very good and I didn't have to add anything to it. My collards were also well seasoned overall ,albeit they were a tad salty. The mashed potatoes were just okay. Nothing special. The cornbread was sweet and very good, I honestly wish my piece was bigger though. The restaurant itself was clean with alot of natural light coming in from the windows which was pleasant. The Bad We ordered the Thursday "Daily Special " which was the "marry me salmon." As seen in my picture, the menu and prices clearly had this listed as their daily Special for $18. However as also seen on my receipt, we were charged $23 dollars. Asked about about the discrepancy, I was told that the salmon is normally $25 so I was getting a special with getting it for a couple dollars less.. That's entirely contrary to the clearly advertised price of the meal. I was told " sorry" and the price that was shown for my break was not honored. I work in customer service and this is a HUGE no no for me. It's unjust and not right to charge more than the advertised menu price. I felt cheated and deceived as the customer, even more so because nothing was done to correct this. Overall the food was good but this experience far outshadows that. This is my first and last time here and I won't be recommending.

Nestled in the heart of Norwood at 3751 Montgomery Road, Southern Grace Eats is a soul food sanctuary that lives up to its motto: “A Blessing in Every Bite.” From the moment you step inside, you’re embraced by warm hospitality and the comforting aromas of home-cooked Southern cuisine. The menu is a delightful homage to classic Southern dishes, offering everything from crispy fried chicken and tender catfish to flavorful salmon croquettes. Sides like creamy mac and cheese, seasoned collard greens, and sweet yams complement the mains perfectly. And for dessert, the strawberry pound cake is a must-try, leaving a lasting impression on your taste buds. What sets Southern Grace Eats apart is not just the food but the genuine care and passion infused into every dish. Owner and chef Nickey Stevenson brings her North Carolina roots to the table, ensuring that each meal is prepared with love and authenticity. The staff’s friendliness and attentiveness further enhance the dining experience, making you feel like part of the family. Horrible service , I have frequent this place a few times, now I have come here twice in 2 weeks time because I purchased a voucher on Cincy Saaver and no employee knows how to use it they said because they do not know how’s to ring it up, 2 weeks ago I decided to still eat with out using this voucher / Coupon. I informed the older woman’s working that I live in the owners subdivision and I was gonna Knock on her door. The older lady came to our table and said she did called the owner and was told to treat it like cash of course it was too late because I had already paid for my food. I thanked the older lady for at least calling because the younger lady that took my older just did not give a dam. I even tipped the older lady $10.00. Today same thing happen and this was a younger guy taking our order and he said the same thing because a manger was not their I would not be able to use it. The same older woman who told us that the next time that I came in she would know how to do it but yet today she was clueless. The young man went to the back claiming he called the managers but no one answered. So today I just walked out, it’s unfortunate to try and support black Businesses but they need some qualified employees to know how to use coupons. Nikki you need to train these folks better. PS why should I have to come I. The day time when a manger is here to use my voucher this is ridiculous. I Pray yaw get it together....

The food is below average at best, and incredibly overpriced. The staff are very friendly and try their hardest, but a lack of training in standard restaurant procedures make the service bad.

I ordered fried catfish, chicken wings, and potato fries at 18:15. Order should have been out in 10 minutes. It wasn’t. At 18:40 (25 minutes), I received the fried catfish, without any sauce. Three minutes later the tartar sauce arrived. Nobody stopped by to refill my drink or update me on the order for the next 45 minutes. At 18:58 (45 minutes), I asked the cashier about my order. The kitchen had lost my ticket. 19:10 (55 minutes) I received hot unseasoned steak fries and freshly fried unseasoned chicken wings (2 flats, 2 drumlets). 4 minutes later the Jamaican Burbon Honey sauce (Karo syrup with scotch bonnet chili) arrived. Both were freshly made, yet blander that the bagged frozen food at a grocery store. Not a hint of salt, pepper, garlic, or anything on them. They served me frozen food from Cisco without adding anything to it. The Karo syrup tasted like HFCS, because that’s what it is. It could have used some acid, ginger, cinnamon, cumin. Essentially an aromatic, a complementary flavor, and a bit of salt.

All told, I spent $23 for 4 wings, 2 strips of fish, and 4 oz of soft mushy potatoes. In comparison, Grand Buffet on Highland charges $12 for lunch and has better wings, buffalo wings, steak fries, roasted...
