We have had many issues with our rental house since moving in 8 years ago. First off, our realtor lied to us about there ever having been an issue with water coming into the home because with every major storm there was a little water coming in under a wall in one of our bedrooms. They tried a few times to fix the issue, but the water kept coming in. The last hurricane we got rendered the room unusable for 4 months while we complained and waited until finally they fixed it, hopefully. The roof has also leaked with every major storm and with most issues, they send out at least 3 different companies to assess the issue before pickling one to fix it. And this happens with almost every issue which means someone has to be home to let the companies in to assess the issues. The roof issues are only ever "patched" even though there are still soft spots that my husband found after the last patch job. A/C repair companies have told us multiple times that our ceiling/attic area needs to be insulated as there currently is insufficient insulation there now causing our electric bill to be over $500 in the summer months for a 1535 sq ft house. The realtor also took pictures of damage to the home prior to our moving in, but never shared them with me, so I have no proof of existing damage and missing window screens. The property manager we were working with is no longer with the company and she was trying to get us some kind of discount due to us not being able to use one of our bedrooms for 4 months, so that is pretty much out the window. I informed Bridge Homes that we are done putting up with all the hassle of the many issues and are moving out and now I get bombarded with emails to sign some notice of intent to move listing a lot of things we have to do to get our deposit back. There is nothing in our lease that says we have to sign this document. It includes things like replacing screens, even though we never had all the window screens to begin with, weeding the yard, but our yard would be nothing but dirt if we pull all the weeds and it has been like that since we moved in, cleaning the carpets but our property manager told us the carpets should have been replaced at least once since we lived there so long so why would we need to clean carpets that are going to be removed and replaced. We have kept the home in beautiful condition as best we could anyway considering the issues, but I feel like no one is listening to our concerns and with our property manager no longer being with the company we would have to start all over with a different person. We have never been late with the rent, fyi. Do not rent from this company!!!! I cannot stress that enough.
Update: 2/28/25 I emailed Bridge Homes on 1/30/25 from their response below to my complaint. They emailed me back the next day saying they would review my complaints and get back to me. That was a month ago.....no response from them since.
Update: 4/4/25 Still no response or resolution, so I called yesterday and spoke to Destinee and was told I needed to speak to a manager so she "took a message" and said the manager who was too busy at the time to speak to me would call me back. Here we are 24 hours later and still nothing. I guess my next step is the local news or small claims court, or...
Read moreUpdate 2! They have been minimally responsive by email unless I spam them with pictures of my ac. New insulation was added in attic but you can see where light is coming in up there so it’s not very well done to keep cold in. Ac people came and did some work on the ac and yet somehow it is till getting up to 78 degrees in the house when set to 70 or lower. Thankful it has not gone up to 83 but I am now 16 weeks pregnant and uncomfortable in my home still.
Update! They have been rejecting the vendors proposal to fix this over and over again for over a week to get this taken care of. I am 15 weeks pregnant and being forced live in a home that gets up to 80 degrees during the day and they are doing nothing about it. The people who came out and inspected the insulation stated there was next to no insulation in this house. Meanwhile electric has hit an all new high of $660.
Paying upwards of $500 for electric due to bad insulation. Instead of addressing this issue they have sent out two ac techs who have said the same thing- that the ac is functioning fine. Called to speak to someone about this at 4:45 was on hold until almost 5 and was told to leave a message, despite it showing that they are open until 6:00pm. Called back twice and was hung up on. They either need to address this issue or shave about $250-$300 off of rent due to the outrageous price of my electric bill. This past month was $600. I love the house I rent, I’m the neighborhood I grew up in… despite all the issues but cannot deal with this heat in my home. Even with the ac set to 70 it is almost 80 degrees in here. This is inhumane. To pay almost 2,000 in rent and $600 in electric is ridiculous. This needs...
Read moreDO NOT RENT WITH THIS COMPANY (formerly GOAL Properties) We were tenants for a year, I won't get into the complaints during our stay on here though. Move out has been our recent problem. We received at extra rent charge even though we moved out before the end of the month that we had paid in full, we got charges for things with no description, $180 cleaning fee, etc. So we did what was required as far as mailing, because you can't email them back to contest, it has to be mailed to an office in another state. So I sent photos from move out of the entire house cleaned by us(24 photos printed on 8.5 x 11), as well as a long letter addressing every issue and asking for clarification. Never got a response to that all that I spent money printing and mailing to them as required. Before move out, shortly after, and now today I've called to be forwarded to someone else who doesn't pick up or return voicemails. Everyone sounds concerned but sends you to a manager or regional manager now that doesn't answer the phone or call back(granted today I didn't leave a voicemail because I decided to just turn to here). I've also sent numerous emails that never get replied to. As well as being told they internally emailed billing about the rent charge and that I'd be getting a response from that department within a few days, that was back at the end of January. They're either a complete mess internally or intentionally scamming.
We're out almost $500 from our security deposit with no response from the company. I'm now looking at what legal action we have as well as reporting...
