Let me first say that this is the BEST and most organized takeout food order that I have ever had. Each item we ordered was individually packed, individually labeled with the items contents and order number CLEARLY marked, and the items were thoughtfully and strategically placed to prevent the possibility of spillage or accident.
Now for the food; Cheese pizza was delicious, with amazingly crisp crust that was full of flavor. The Chicken Parmesean dinner was delicious, tender and juicy. The Garlic Knots were totally remenicent of a New York establishment with incredibly flavorful marinara sauce.
This was our first time ordering and it most certainly will not be the last. Our order was pretty standard fare, as this is a new restaurant, and we wanted a baseline to compare. Let me tell you Hot Rock's Pizza is an absolute home run.
Second meal.
We decided to go try a dine-in meal.
Our whole experience was 5-star all the way.
We couldn't decide what to order, so we got a bit of everything; who doesn't love leftover Italian?
The Mozzarella Sticks were large, gooey and served with a flavorful marinara sauce.
Garlic Cheese Bread was warm, crisp and full of buttery-garlic goodness. Super yummy.
The Philly Cheese steak was huge, cheesy and crave-worthy.
The Chicken Parmesan was full of tender chunks of chicken, covered in mozzarella, atop a bed of perfectly cooked pasta.
The Ham and Cheese Club was stacked with everything good about a sandwich and beautifully presented.
The service and staff were beyond friendly, helpful and kind.
So glad that we stopped in for the full dine-in experience. The restaurant is super, super clean, well staffed with eager, competent employees; which, let's face it - is darn near impossible to find anymore.
Highly recommend dine-in, take-out and delivery of Hot Rocks Pizza. You will not be...
Read moreWe've recently ordered delivery 4 times and are extremely happy with Hot Rocks. As a native New Yorker I am picky and snobby about fast casual Italian food (I lived there 30 years). So far, we have ordered Stromboli, Chicken Parm w/spaghetti, and Meatball Subs and in every case the food was terrific. There are special things to note about the food. First, the sauce they use seems to be home made. It's full of crushed tomatoes and is seasoned perfectly to a very mellow, aromatic flavor with no hint of "acid." The Chicken Parm (dinner) has a thick, well seasoned piece of chicken done perfectly with a thin layer of bread crumbs. It's so good I've had it 4 times. Meatballs are clearly home made and a lot of attention has been paid to make the flavor fresh and well-balanced. The bread used for the subs is well-chosen. It's crusty and firm so it stands up well to saucy contents. Excellent pick.
We did not like the garlic knots. They were very tough and the flavor was mediocre. My only other quibble is about the MUSHROOMS. My wife ordered a stromboli that had mushrooms in it and they were canned. Mushrooms had a very weird, salty flavor that was awful, and the sogginess and texture told me they were canned. Owners- if you read this, given the generally very high quality and details of your food, please consider using fresh mushrooms.
Net/net we are exceptionally happy with Hot Rocks and will continue to order. Great new find. I am dying to try their Calzone...
Read moreCustomer service is mediocre at best. I was placed on hold for what seemed like forever. Called ahead of arrival thinking I could place order and have it ready by the time I got there. Arrived at location approximately 10 minutes later and was still in hold. 😳 🤷♂️. Walked in, had not hung up yet, saw one employee on the phone, two others talking by the oven. I hung up/placed my order. Did not complain about being left on hold because I figured it wouldn't do any good and I just wanted to get my order taken without any additional drama. Young lady took my order. I Was the only one inside for the most part with people popping in/out to pick up orders. I was told 15- 20 minutes but it seemed to have taken a bit longer than that to have my order ready. It was only one medium pepperoni pizza. Nothing else. Opinions will differ. Personally, I did not like the taste too much. It was ok . Wife and I were starving coming from work. It was roughly around 6:30 pm. Guess we're used to Pizza Hut/Dominoes flavor. Over all ok if nothing else available. Cost for medium pizza is a bit higher than Pizza Hut/Dominoes. I can buy a medium pepperoni pizza for under $15 out the door. Helps when you can get military discount. 10% is better than none at all. Times are tough. Not every resteraunt offers this....
