Thursday August 15 2024. I visited Whiteman Chevrolet Dix Avenue Glens Falls. On the website they showed a 2024 Corvette Stingray 2LT in Torch Red. As I walked up to the dealership there was a black version on the lot , I checked it over and then entered the showroom to check out the red one. No one greeted me. I walked back to my car ,grabbed my glasses, checked out the sticker on the black Corvette outside and then I went back in. As I walked over to the red Corvette a sales representative walking through the showroom said hello and kept going. I walked around the car, checking out the window sticker and the styling. Typical tire kicker. The sales rep., I believe his name is Ray came back and we began the small talk. About one hour into the visit I asked if I could test drive one of the Corvettes. I asked about a discount. I was prepared to buy the red one that day. I have never in my life driven a Corvette and I only sat in the C8 version once. The rep went to talk to someone. I sat and waited about 15 minutes. Ray and this "Dude", who I guess was a manager, but really billed himself as the Corvette expert. He started out saying there are no discounts. He tried to impress me like he has owned and raced a lot of "Expensive" sports cars and a lot of contradictory nonsense. Lastly he said they can't let someone take a 6 figure car out for a test drive, because if I don't buy it and God forbid I put 5 miles on the car, the next guy or gal won't want to buy a car that expensive with miles on it. Well, this "DUDE" had no idea my credit card was in my pocket. I was ready to put down the sales tax and see the finance department. Not really that important to this story, but to the point, I once visited a dealership and took a S500 out for a joyride and came back and bought a B7 Alpina. The kicker was the expert suggested if I want to drive one. I could rent one. By the way $1,500 plus for a minimum of 2 days. I said see you later and walked out. By the way I did purchase a 2024 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray LOADED 3LT Torch Red. Over the internet, Les Stanford Chevrolet, Dearborn Michigan. It was advertised with a 10 percent discount and there is a factory incentive I qualified for. Talecia Zander, sales. Scott Estes, finance. They took care of everything. I had it shipped. Completed the purchase 8.27.24 and the car was delivered to my home on 8.30.24. Better car, a fabulous deal and out of the dozens and dozens of cars I have purchased over the years, THE ABSOLUTE BEST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. It's a long story, I was going to drive to Whiteman and thumb my nose at them in my car but I think this story will have a better impact. DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER! I would like to add two things. First.there was a additional 1,800$ added by the dealership for ceramic coating. I didn't want it nor did I want to pay for it. They told me they couldn't take it off. So it is what it is. #@*%ING arrogant response. Second, after I wrote the review and purchased the car somewhere else, they replied, give us a call and let's see if there is something we could do. Maybe they can pay the freight cost for shipping the car. My suggestion to this dealership is, you can't do business like your grandfather did. You need to be honest, fair, and give a good price to everyone, not just a select few. The word will get around. It's hard to mend a...
Read moreHorrible place, took my car in for service when the ac stopped working before I had 1300 miles on it. Replaced the hoses. Less that a month later ac stops working again, by the time they ordered the part and got it in i had just rolled 1900 miles. They had my car for a week before even getting it into the shop, even tho I took it in because they called and said the part was there, however days after dropping the car off they claimed they were waiting for the part...? The part they called and said was there and that is why my car was there. That was the first lie. Then when the car was finally finished I went to pick it up however they had damaged my car, scrapes, dents and scratches inside and out. I was less than happy. Then they try to see if the car came in damaged...that would be a NO, the car was perfect except for the failed ac components. Took the car back the next day and pointed all the damage out to the general manager, on Saturday, who had me bring it back the following monday so he and the service manager and myself could go over the car, note the damages and make a plan for repair. Left the car again for repair, went to get it and they hadn't fixed half the problems and I still had demands. I took them a brand new car, they trashed it and then wanted to do minimal fixes and thought I would be happy with that. Try again to get it right, this involved taking it into the collision center to repair 2 dents in the door sill, the collision center opens my door into something, i presume the lift, and they chip the door. They did a horrible job on the door sill, over spray has left it rough and dull and marks where the tape was. I leave the car again. Get a call the car is all set, go back to get it and I brought it home, i am done with them, and beyond sick of the loaner. Now I have a door sill that is worse than when they got it, a chip in my door that they paint markered to cover ( can still see the chip indent) unaligned wipers, scratches on the interior plastics, scratches still on the mirror, and the plastic above the wheel well that they said they replaced, however I washed my car and whatever they put on the plastics wore off and the scratch is still there. They never replaced the plastic piece on the wheel well, but wrote on a invoice they did..that's fraud! I am beyond done with their fixes, but I am not done with my story. They had their chance to make it right and kept making it worse. Now they get bad reviews and they can deal with what is coming next. This is by far the worst new car experience I...
Read moreWell what we thought was a good buying experience turned out to be an absolute nightmare. Bought a used Silverado cash. Already knew everything I needed to know about the truck. However. The day I got it home I discovered that the passenger side door was rubbing on the front fender. Then I noticed somebody had used paint to cover up scratches in the same area. My fault for not looking close but that should have been disclosed and pointed out. It was not.
During the purchase I also ordered a hard cover for the bed. I got a phone call from a lady at Whiteman who needed us to come up to sign the title for the trade in. She specifically told me let’s sign the title, have your cover put on the bed and let the body shop have a look at the truck. I drive almost an hour to the dealership only to find out the cover was supposedly on a truck that had not come in yet. And somebody would call me. Over a week later ? No phone call. I finally reach out to the salesman. I find out the cover is on back order ?? Wait i was told it was on a truck over a week ago. I was never contacted and told it was on back order. As a matter of fact the day I bought the truck I was told they could get it asap. Now here comes the worst part.
They let us drive off the lot with a bogus inspection sticker. Yup they sure did. Never once telling us that it needed to be done when the truck was registered. Nor did they offer to inspect it that day. 10 plus days later the insurance company calls and says the truck hasn’t been inspected. Wait what? Why would they not say a word about it, leave a bogus inspection sticker on there and say it’s ok to drive?
I’ve contacted the salesman a few times and there has been nothing “ I’m sorry you are dealing with this “ and basically slim to no contact back. This vehicle was bought cash. And we had planned to purchase trucks for our horse business this coming year. Nope. Not gonna do it. As if this date they have still done ZERO to fix this. Even after I was asked when I was available. I answered! Crickets. Would I suggest buying a truck from them? Absolutely not. I truly hope you guys make good with this. But with the contact I’ve had so far? I doubt it. Good luck to...
