Johnstown Movieplex — Local services in City of Johnstown

It had been a very long time since I enjoyed going to see a movie…So, I am excited to share my experience!!! I was clumsily tired one evening and I knew sleep wasn’t at all possible…it only being 6:35pm! So, I walked over to the movie theatre here in Johnstown. I was greeted wonderfully and with extreme patience (Phew!!!) I hadn’t a clue what was playing nor was I familiar with these titles (that’s on me… again, I hadn’t been in awhile) Well, The gentleman, whom I believe operates or owns the theatre was a delight. He was kind and full of smiles. He was extremely helpful in making my decision, giving me a brief synopsis of each movie… He absolutely without a doubt made my experience DELIGHTFUL! The viewing was spectacular… The seats were very comfortable and the surround sound was on point. And popcorn…. That’s right, I made it back for a refill, twice!!! Went here to see the new Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The last time I was at the Movieplex was with my ex-girlfriend to see The Lion King about 2 years ago, so it’s been a minute. This place was THE hangout to be back in high school, every Friday night we’d get dropped off, watch movies, hang out, and go home after.

Upon arriving, was greeted by Bruce, the owner himself, super nice and extremely helpful guy that got me all set up for the 7:00 PM showtime, recommended I get there early since it was nearly sold out. Went home, showered, and got ready for the showing.

Met my friend there, got some popcorn, a slushy, and got to our seats.

The movie itself was great. The theater is the reason why I had it at 4 as opposed to 5. It could use a good cleaning; fresh food, concessions, especially the bathrooms, but it’s been that way for years, since I was a kid.

Prices are reasonable, close to home, works in a pinch if you don’t feel like driving to Saratoga Bow...

The place Is in need of a remodel, the arm rest of my chair fell off. the popcorn was not warm , when she saturated it in butter it became soggy. The fruit punch was warm. Watery and tasted horrible. When I ordered one of the kids snack pack it comes with a box of candy , they didn’t have any of the candy it came with and said I would have to pay a 2$ up charge for another kind. My second kid pack she wants to charge me the full 5.50 even though they had no candy to give me because the candy they did have I couldn’t get it without paying the extra 2$. I ended up paying 5$ without any candy. We did have practically the whole back of the theater to ourselves there wAs only 2 more families in there. And the movie was alright we watched Shazam. I had tickets from the other theatre that was in Amsterdam. They did accept those. That was good but I wouldn’t buy ANYTHING from the snack bar ever if I did come back to...
