I’ve had the opportunity and the privilege to know Dave Warren (The Game Guys owner and proprietor) for many years, and I finally got around to reviewing his shop properly.
In Fulton County, there aren’t many shops around that really foster growth and camaraderie in the Gaming community, in a mostly rural and country setting.
However, The Game Guys supplements that need perfectly. Dave and his staff do a fantastic job of maintaining a welcoming, fun, and enjoyable experience every-time you visit. Wether it be to pickup some playing cards for D&D, Pokémon, etc, to finding that one retro game you’ve been looking for some time and wanted to support local as opposed to a random eBay’er that wants to charge 400% markup, he’s got it, or can get it.
Every time I’m there personally, I spend at least 2 hours there, me and him catch up over life matters, game releases, future events he has planned, or opinions on games I potentially pick up.
To make it even more enjoyable, I bring my guy friends in when I visit, and we spend even more time reminiscing about the past with PS2/Xbox/GC/N64 games along with Dave enjoying the conversation; it’s safe to say I enjoyed a lot of memories here and it’s a part of who I am really.
In closing; stop and take a visit here when in the area. My house is thankfully 4 minutes from here; and I pass it everyday going to work with a smile. I spend lots of days off here, and will continue to do so. It’s about time we got a mom/pop game shop in the area as opposed to going to Jay Street in the mall where a much worse experience...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting The Game Guy's store, and I can't say enough good things about my experience there. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that this store is more than just a place to buy games; it's a welcoming community of gamers.
The first thing that struck me was the friendly and helpful staff. The employees at The Game Guy's store are not only knowledgeable about their products but also genuinely passionate about gaming. They were eager to answer my questions, recommend games, and even share their own gaming experiences. It's evident that they care about their customers and want to create a positive gaming environment.
What sets this store apart is its commitment to building a gaming community. There is an area where gamers can gather, chat, and even play together. It's a fantastic space for connecting with fellow enthusiasts and making new friends who share your interests.
The selection of games was impressive, covering a wide range of genres and platforms. Whether you're into card games, classic video games, or tabletop RPGs, you're likely to find something that piques your interest.
In summary, The Game Guy's store offers more than just games; it offers a welcoming and inclusive space for gamers to come together. I'll definitely be returning for more gaming adventures and community...
Read moreMy absolute favorite store. Been here three times so far, most games are very fair priced and the ones that are pricy still make up for it with their points system. I don't see any difference between online or online vendor pricing (includng tax, shipping, service fees it's basically equal +/- a small amount IME) So this is an extremely fair price point on things, with the added bonus of being able to shop IRL for things that are otherwise hard to find around here. The experience of shopping is as important as getting a fair deal for me.
I'm yet to use my points but I look forward to seeing what it's all about and how it works. Coming here is dangerous for my wallet and I absolutely love it! I'll forever come here to support a local business before I shop online. As I am happy to support a local vendor. Be sure to stop here before you give money to a giant corporation like gamestop.
Great atmosphere and friendly workers :D, as someone with severe anxiety I feel totally comfortable in this shop. Love the artwork on the walls as well!!
Plenty of retro games, some new games, even cards are available here.
I do wish they used a different way to label the prices with retro games as the stickers are a bit tough to get off, I just leave them on for historical purposes as I do with retro games that were initially from a rental store though. No big deal but for expensive games this may be...
