Toying Around — Local services in City of Johnstown

My son started collecting vintage action figures and funko pops a couple of years ago. What I thought would be a quick passing hobby has become a full time passion for him.

This shop and the owner have encouraged and inspired him so much. I’m sure I will probably be driving him to work here one day 😅

If you have the opportunity to make it to Toying Around don’t pass it up.

The atmosphere and owner are incredibly welcoming from minute you walk in the door to the time you leave. Even if you don’t purchase anything you’re free to look around and chat with the staff about anything and everything comics, movies, collectibles etc.

The 80s/90s nostalgia is intense - it is the comfort of the couch wrapped up in a warm blanket with a big bowl of popcorn for a Friday night horror flick or Saturday morning cartoons with a giant bowl of sugary cereal! I’m sure I’m not the first person to say these positive things, but I don’t have time to read all the other reviews. If you do, tally up how many people say the same things! I’m sure there are more than enough to convince you it’s worth the visit.

New and hard to find items are continually being added. The store is well organized, clean, and spaced out well so you can casually look around without feeling like you’re bound to knock everything over like George Costanza in his puffy coat.

I typically come to this place when I visit my mom. Everytime I have been here, the owner greeted me. Small talk. But entertaining my questions. So friendly all the time. There's so much stuff, collectables from Star Wars, Wrestling, GI Joe's you name it, most likely it is here. Last time I was here they had moved to a new location. Basically across the street. LOL. But it's bigger which means more. More is good. Better. Love coming to this place. So much to see. Maybe not for my wallet or my addiction to action figures, LOL. I’ve never been treated so poorly as a customer. I bought several things and wanted to browse the comics but he essentially rudely rushed me out. reply to owner: Oh it’s accurate. Although it was about a year and a half ago. I purchased a Ricky The Dragon Steamboat figure from the employee. He was there with a young child behind the counter. I was browsing comics while waiting for my uber and he asked me if I was buying anything else and if not to get going. It was extremely rude and i’ve never experienced anything like it.
