5/5 Stars
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Miss Johnstown Diner, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, I could tell that this diner was something special. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, complete with vintage decor and friendly service, made me feel right at home.
But the real star of the show was the food. Oh boy, was it good! I opted for the mac and gravy, and let me tell you, it was love at first bite. The creamy pasta was cooked to perfection, and the rich, savory gravy added just the right amount of depth and flavor. It's clear that Miss Johnstown Diner has mastered the art of this classic comfort food dish.
What really sets Miss Johnstown apart from other diners, however, is their commitment to using only the highest-quality ingredients. From the farm-fresh produce to the tender cuts of meat, it's clear that they're dedicated to serving up dishes that are not only delicious but also made with care and attention.
In short, if you're a fan of good old-fashioned comfort food, look no further than Miss Johnstown Diner. The mac and gravy is a must-try, trust me!

Don't be shy - order the mac and gravy! And don't forget to try some of their other classic diner fare, like burgers or sandwiches. But let's be real, the mac and gravy is the real reason you'll be coming...
Read moreDecided to re-visit the Miss Johnstown diner after not being here in at least 5 years; this was the known spot in the area to go at 2AM in the summer after concerts/events at SPAC (Saratoga Performing Arts Center) on the way home, being it was the only establishment open. Today, being thanksgiving; reasonably nothing is open since it’s a holiday. We wanted to get a quick bite for breakfast before our huge dinner tonight.
The waitress was SUPER friendly and nice, and she ran the whole ship by herself, and did a really good job. Attended to a full house, did cooking, and cleaned off tables. I have ZERO complaints about the service.
My gripe, however, lie in the food quality. I know this place is nicknamed “The Greasy Spoon” but the food is a bit to be desired since I’ve known it last. It was presented good, but the taste had grease from other foods lingering in it; made it taste off, at least to me. A bit disgusting. I get it; it’s all shared on the same grill, but I didn’t care for the mixed food taste in my French toast. The eggs had a lot of grease in it too.
Still; if you’re in a pinch, with strenuous circumstances with nothing else open; it’s worth going to. Found out it’s been here in Johnstown for 100 years this year. Quite a piece of local history.
The best place in the Johnstown area for breakfast is Railside; check that out instead. Better...
Read moreSo we stumbled on this little diner a few years ago, by accident. We like diners & found it on a quick google search when we came out of the woods after a few days camping. You typically know what you’re getting when you walk into a diner…except this one is special. The sweetheart of a gal who runs the place reminds me of a pinup girl, is welcoming and will pretty much make you whatever you want. They have this crazy Philly cheese steak over potatoes, over Texas toast breakfast which might be the only thing I’ve ever seen my boyfriend tap out on. He actually couldn’t finish it because even though it was SO tasty, it was an enormous dish. We were just camping around there the other day and I’m delighted to find the place is still around, and it’s as good as ever (at really fair prices). Probably because, as the girl who runs it says - everything she cooks, she cooks with love. I believe it. The French toast is thick, light, as fluffy as the scrambled eggs, the bacon and home fries crispy like I asked for (not coated in grease like your typical diner). My man looked at my plate, looked at me and asked - “you’re going to eat all that”?? I said I was and that I’d stab him with my fork if he didn’t stop eye-f——king my food. Worth it, make sure you stop in if you’re...
