Definitely not everything is "perfect" on a human or even on the institutional level! Far from it.

But it's a place where you can find answers for detailed questions about biblical doctrine and the right dogmatic stance on many things unanswered for many believers today.

The Confessional Evangelical Lutheran Conference (CELC) unites the former ones into an international network of churches sharing the same faith in the Bible. CELC is split into different regional conferences (Europe, Asia, ...).

WELS has a tremendous network of multilingual church congregations throughout the US.

That includes mainly a nationwide network of Hispanic church ministries with local congregations and a smaller network of Hmong churches, often sharing their place of worship with a local English language congregation.

There's of course also a theological seminary part of this church, offering academic degrees in theology. It's Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon/WI. There you can find also a theological essay file archive and non-traditional pastoral education for minority languages like Spanish and Hmong.

In one of their colleges you can find a deaconate type education program, as well as the prep school for the pastoral education.

Like already said: don't judge a book by its cover and God's ground staff and its behavior isn't the same what His important message to us is and it's not what you can learn about the doctrine and what you wanted to learn and...

Gone is the synod I grew up with. I can't find an 11am service so I have to go to Missouri. I wanted my kids to enjoy Sundays like I did. 9:30 Sunday School and Adult Bible, 11 am service then off to grandma's for Sunday dinner at 1 or 2. When mine switched to a 9:30 service only- so did we. Kids started to fight getting up at 7am vs 10am so they started hating to go. (I know other parents with the same struggle) People that used to drive an hour-gone. Kids gone. Then they will guilt you into not coming earlier and equate it for showing up for work or school. If this is a day of rest instead of hell - then pastors need to switch to 11. Most WELS were set up in rural areas whereas Missouri urban so we drive further (Who would have the most membership?) I've attended a WELS school and currently go to a WELS church. The school was a great experience with teachers who truly cared about my education. Everything was gospel centered, and the education I received was substantially better than the education of my public school friends. I was also spared from the political and social agendas being pushed in public schools.
