Stay away from this store! Ridiculous pricing, extremely rude staff, particularly the manager(s) and not to mention the store is always crammed full of employees unloading product. I've been there at varying times of day during various times of the week always struggling to get through most of the store due to blockades of inventory and employees. The few things the store had going for it, namely the donuts and meat are either not available or of much lower quality than they used to be. One thing that particularly bothers me during shopping experiences there is the amount of negativity from employees in general. Most of the staff is older and acts as if they are owed something by gracing you with their presence there. Management is especially crotchety, they are rude to employees and customers and create a very unwelcoming atmosphere. The few younger members of staff, mostly high schoolers, are the delightful exception for me at least, they have always been very polite and used excellent customer service acumen. It's a shame they constantly are yelled at and talked poorly of by management in front of customers. Considering Piggly Wiggly's reputation for innovating the grocery scene as a whole, I find this state of affairs sad. I really hope they can get some kinder, more engaging staff, particularly the management. Feeling respected and welcome as a customer goes a long way for me, i'd even look over some higher prices or less than fresh produce for a friendly neighborhood grocery store. Without this change, I don't see this store going anywhere but under. They certainly lost...
Read moreWhere to start. The prices are astronomical, but just like anything else you pay the extra for the convenience of location when needed. Swung in to grab a premade salad today. There were 3 available. Picked one and started to walk away but noticed a lot of spoiled lettuce. So I gave a quick inspection and grabbed another. Payed the 7 for the salad and the .89 for the dressing. Drove back to the office. Popped it open to see there was a pile of mystery meat underneath the ham. After giving it a taste I find it to be bacon. But some left over fatty cut pieces of bacon that just doesn't have much aesthetic to it. As I start to eat this salad notice that the lettuce is mostly frozen. The lettuce that is not frozen is severely wilted and and has the texture of soggy news papers. The frozen lettuce just tastes like dirty expired lettuce(You all know what that flavor is). So my conclusion is, when their lettuce browns they throw it in the freezer and then make salads with it to minimize loss. I would assume its the same with the other ingredients. Again, I stopped knowing that I was paying for convenience, but if your selling things at twice the rate of Walmart or Aldi's, make sure your giving quality. I don't enjoy paying double for your attempt to...
Read moreAs someone who did not like like Tops I was very much looking forward to the new piggly wiggly. Today was my 2nd time trying it and I’ll never return.
First I had to walk from the store to the cart carousel to find a cart as there were none in the breezeway. Everything I needed was available so that was good. I go to check out and notice my milk was leaking all over the groceries. I told the cashier it was leaking and that I did not want it. She asked me if I was sure it wasn't condensation as she was scanning my milk covered groceries. I said yes I’m sure because I can see milk all over the groceries! Then she called someone over to bring the milk back to dairy. I said again that the milk is open. Idk what happened from there.
Then I paid my bill before she was done bagging the groceries. I thought to myself how does she know how many bags to charge for? I look at the receipt after getting my groceries and sure enough I was over charged for the bags but did not want the hassle of dealing with her any longer or waiting in line at customer service over $0.20.
Point is, I guess it’s okay if you need a few things but don’t expect friendly employees and check your receipt...
