Everyone's doing water towers these days. I see the "baseball" tower in Fort Mill that's near where the Charlotte Knights practice. There's the Leaning Tower along I-40 in Texas. The Dixie Cup in Kentucky at the factory that makes Dixie Cups. And the big Earth water tower in Maryland that is painted to look like our planet.

The champion is the Peach in Gaffney South Carolina that is along I-85. Here in Clanton, this peach is 120 feet tall in Clanton Alabama off Interstate 65 but half the capacity of Gaffney. Yes, Chilton County is Alabama's peach capital. And I find interesting that this peach and the one in Gaffney were constructed by the Chicago Bridge & Iron Company: Gaffney's in 1980-81 and Clanton's in 1992.

You'll spot it driving by or you can go out of your way to get closer to it on 7th Street. A couple blocks away is a Peach Statue...
