In response to the owner; I’ve not heard from anyone from this gym. The district manager did not reach out to me nor did the front desk representative that was supposed to call me back.
Avoid this gym. I signed up to this gym last October. I was excited to start, but since I travel for work a lot it prevented me from going. I’ve never step foot in the gym other than the initial tour. I then had shoulder surgery in February unfortunately that even more so prevented me from going. I noticed in June that I was still being charged for my membership. So, I called to cancel my membership due to the surgery. Contractually surgery is a valid reason to cancel your membership. They told me I needed to send a signed document that they provided by my surgeon/doctor stating I had the surgery. I sent the completed document on June 6th. The name on the document stated Joseph Johnson I signed up for the gym membership as Chris Johnson because I go by my middle name. They told me since the document had my first name they could not accept it. I emailed a copy of my driver’s license to show proof of both names on June 8th.(a legal form of identification) I feel like they are just giving me that particular excuse because they didn’t want to cancel my membership. I have been emailing them to find out what the status is and if they have received my documentation. NO response. It gets worse!! I then found out on August 8th; they sent my account to collections after I’ve done everything they’ve asked me to do. I called the gym and they told me they couldn’t help because my account was sent to billing. They gave me the number for billing. I called billing and they told me they couldn’t help because my account has been sent to collections. They gave me collections number. I called collections, and the collections agency said they couldn’t find my account. I explained to them that billing told me it was in collections. They got really rude with me like their account was the one that was sent to collections. They hung up in my face. I called back, explaining to the next representative what I’ve just experienced. Before I could finish my sentence they hung up on me again. I called and called and when they finally picked up after sending me to the automated service line they said they couldn’t help me and told me to stop calling and hung up again. This is unacceptable. This is now going to affect something that I’ve taking pride in by making sure it is excellent. (My credit). Communication is hard for this company. I feel like they are taking people money and do not care who or what they are affecting. I need someone to contact me about this matter as soon as possible or I will have to take legal matters and get my...
Read moreI have been a member of Fit4Life Garner/Clayton for the past year. I made a life changing decision a year and a half ago that resulted in dramatic weight loss. I met with my dietician and my doctor who both recommended strength training. So, I made the decision around this time last year to call Fit4Life, who had just moved to their new location. I was terrified! Gyms can be intimidating places with body builders and equipment that requires a degree of some sort to figure out-NOT the case at Fit4Life. I spoke with Braxton Simmons, who arranged an assessment for me and assigned me to a personal trainer. When you speak to Braxton, you're the only person on the planet at that moment, and his laugh and encouragement were just what I needed and that is what led me to sign a yearlong contract. I began training with Morgan Davis, who developed a training plan tailored for me and goals to work on. Due to schedule changes, I now work with Weston Butcher, who also tailors work outs for me and because of my specific weight loss success and my need to reach certain goals, he helps me focus on certain areas of my body, asks me what exercises I like or don't like, and if I can do 15 lbs, does that feel too light, and encourages me to maybe do 20 lbs. It's little things like this that may seem little, but can add up to huge results. I never joined a gym and went consistently until now. If you go in to Fit4Life with an open mind, you will meet people that will become your biggest cheerleaders. They believe in encouragement, they greet you at the door, help you with equipment if you are a first timer or just need a refresher, go out of their way to make you feel welcomed, believe in fist bumps and high fives, texts to remind you of trainings coming up, tell you "you can do this!" when maybe you think you can't. They are some of the greatest people you will ever want to meet, a gym where you will not only gain strength, but you will find a support system that you might not know you needed, but one that will change your life for the better. Between Shaun, Braxton, Morgan, Weston, James, Liz, Vinny, Mason and others that I might know by face but not by name, they all have had a part in changing my life. I couldn't have done this alone and I am happy to say that I have just signed on for my second year. Super affordable and with great locations, Fit4Life is in a word, incredible. If you're looking for a gym and haven't kept momentum in the past or were too scared to make the commitment, trust me when I say, this is the place for you. Thank you to their amazing team for being so...
Read moreTrainers are great, they care and are extremely personable, patient, and knowledgeable. Space is cramped, some equipment could be replaced. Had a problem with the ventilation system for a while so there is/was a bathroom smell in there from time to time--building problems. The initial sale was talked up a bit due to a move to a new facility which is still under construction, or has just begun. However this construction has been post-poned several times. There are other items added on such as a facility upkeep fee to contracts. You may not be aware, but they say they make you aware--not always true. Again, note to manager, repeat, if necessary, prior to getting customer to sign, and ensure their understanding. All of that should be included in membership, forget this facility fee. Manager is very young and could improve his communication style, but not a local and seems unaware that he is sometimes perceived as someone that comes across in a somewhat impolite, unpersonable, arrogant, or superior manner. In management, you politely state facts, but always listen, and never, ever interrupt or argue with customers. I've seen him get chewed out by customers before, and it would seem that the lesson could be learned. Customers, however unpleasant themselves sometimes, are the reason you are there. Sales--it is what it is. If a customer needs to discontinue, which manager says he never does, but in your case...I'll do you a favor... I've heard this line before. This is not my first rodeo. I can get out of any contract, by having my lawyer write a letter with good cause if the gym is not understanding that word of mouth is the best advertisement, so please no smoke. It appears disingenuous. I would suggest that you state terms, then send customer to the corporate office instead of appearing that you have...
