This Food Lion is constantly out of stock on items. They normally only have one to two cashiers open. This is due to Food Lion as a whole wants 70 percent of their checkouts done through self check out. What really annoys me is that they always have people out stocking shelves in the middle of the day when it is busy. Grocery stores use to do this overnight. Why can they do the same now?

They usually have everything I need. Sometimes, the meat department is lacking, but I find a worker, and they go find the meat I'm looking for in the back. I don't think I've ever waited in line for more than 2 minutes to check out. They always have sufficient registers open.

Very clean and well organized. Cashier was friendly and helpful. Manager was visible and courteous. I did not visit the bakery se ruin while I was there.

First Impressions are everything, So apparently Food Lion no longer scans temporary store employee VIP Cards anymore? Been a resident of NC for 12 years & had a VIP account since I moved down like I do for every major supermarket or food chain including BJ's; I recently moved to Clayton from Cary and ran in to get some items and headed to the main checkout with the items totalling $20.00 but didn't have my VIP card so I inputted my & my wife's numbers and nothing came up so the cashier (a young man) said here let me swipe the store discount card for you you'll still get the same discount; it totalled about $2.00 in savings.... I said thank you young man I appreciate you and I went on my way..... I returned literally 2 days later this time at self checkout with items totalling $9.80 & the same thing occured but this time (a young lady) over seeing the self checkout area said oh we don't do that anymore I turned to her and told her that you guys just literally did this for me two days ago she said sir you can apply for a new VIP card but again we don't do that anymore which I reluctantly replied Okayyyy, I had NO problem getting a new card so with a line building up behind me she sent me over to the VIP machine located at the entrance of the store with a big sign hanging on it stating it was "Out Of Service" so I just came back paid what I owed ($9.88) to be exact and went on my way.... Even the lady on line behind me stated if that was the only issue she would have just swiped her card for me but I told her I appreciate that but it was the principal and going forward I would probably have to get a new one anyway but thank you. It's hard to believe a large supermarket chain is going to inconvenience and nickel and dime customers over at best a dollar discount when there are 100 other options to choose from nor was I going to huff & puff over the situation (Definitely not worth the aggravation) nor was it going to make or break me or change anything but I do wish their employees would be better trained to be on at least on the same page with something as menial as this..... I have the dates but I'm not trying to get anybody in trouble the kids were cool & it wasn't that big a deal this is more of a customers heads up. I haven't been to this Food Lion enough to make an overall assessment but this was my first 2 interactions so I'm split at 50/50.... Yes it's convenient but just like everyone else that's obviously not the only thing that I look for when it comes...

I live not 1 minute down the road from this location so this is pretty much the only grocery store I use and I don’t normally leave reviews like this but considering I had two of the employees trying to tell me that there was no way for me to manually put my card number in for my WIC card, when I’ve had to do it like that now for the last couple weeks since my swipe hasn’t been working, and I tried to tell them that yes there is because I’ve done it before and they both went straight to there’s no way to do that and they were talking to me as if I was lying or stupid or both. I’m sorry but times are really tough and every dollar you can save counts right now and the way they treated me wasn’t okay. The supervisor ended up hitting the manual EBT button for me to type my card number in and yes it did work so it showed that I wasn’t lying or making this up but at the end of the day I was treated in such a way that now I don’t feel comfortable coming back and I live walking distance from this location. I’ve worked in retail and customer service for my entire working career and yes i know first hand that the customer is most definitely NOT always right but I wasn’t rude to them and I wasn’t trying to make a scene or act as if I knew more about their job than they did, I just told them that yes there’s a way to manually put the number in and the immediate response from both of them jumping straight to no you can’t and then the supervisor very rudely hit the monitor and said here just try that and turned and walked away without another word was uncalled for and turns out that was the button they had to hit and it worked but it just wasn’t necessary that kind of treatment and it really hurts that now I don’t want to go back to that store that I’ve been going to for years because of the proximity to my house and will now be having to use my gas money to go to one further down the road because I just don’t feel comfortable coming back to this location. I just hope that if another customer has to ask for them to do what I had asked of them that this was a learning lesson for them both and hopefully they now know what to do and won’t treat anyone else the way they treated me. Because that really sucked and although I wasn’t lying or making things up I do feel so embarrassed and it feels like they were almost wanting me to be a problem customer and purposely make...

I visit this store very often and have had a couple bad experiences but with only one of the team members. This particular incident happened on a Thursday night after 10:00 about two weeks ago. As I walked in the store I asked if customer service was opened and was quickly told it was closed as the associate was standing in the front of the store. I continued in the store to pick up a few items and once I went to check out, that same associate was helping someone at the customer service counter. I am a fairly nice person but this rubbed me the wrong way. I wasn't going to add a review until something similar happened on yesterday around 2:30 as I stood at the customer service counter and was totally ignored until some else came to help me. That same associate was stocking the tobacco products behind the counter and didn't even look my way to say someone will be there to help me shortly. She just continued what she was doing. This store has been one of the best Food Lions I have visited and I would hate for one team associate...
