It's extremely rare that I give 5 star reviews but this place is 10 out of 5 stars!! When we walked in there were 9 or 10 people in front of us and another 7 came in behind us. We waited less than 9 minutes to be happily greeted and served. The young women working there were lively, professional, efficient and worked like a well choreographed bakery behind the counter. But let's talk about the ice cream... I had one very, very generous scoop of orange cream ice cream that was absolutely divine! When I tell you it took me back to a1977 waiting with all the neighborhood kids for a PushUp off the ice cream truck - I mean I dreamed of my childhood last night because of the ice cream! I do not believe I've ever had ice cream that good in all my life. My husband had two very generous scoops (chocolate and strawberry) over these adorable little powdered sugar coated donuts. It had homemade whipped cream, chocolate sauce and chocolate shavings and a cherry. I didn't get to take the chocolate or donuts but the strawberry ice cream was to die for. It was fresh summertime in my mouth. The ice cream isn't too sweet and Alex the fresh strawberries to shine. As we were finishing we realized their first bathroom door was locked from the inside. One of the young ladies was attempting to unlock it with a debit card and my husband offered to unlock it if they had a butter knife. It took him about 15 seconds and it was unlocked, they were gracious and thankful. While we were doing that we finished out treats and watched then preparing to close. Like I said, it was like watching a well choreographed ballet. The entire facility is spotless, even behind the counters and their work areas. I'll be back regularly and you...
Read moreMy favorite ice cream in the US is Joy's Ice Cream in Fort Pierce, FL. However that is a bit far to drive. LOL. Also love the German Chocolate Cake at Sunni Skies. HOWEVER, we stopped by Celtic Ice Cream today and it blew the other two places out of the water. By far the BEST homemade ice cream I have ever had. So creamy and an amazing consistancy. Sweet, but not so much so that after 10 bites you have had enough. The Coconut was phenominal and the Lemon was pefect. They do not have as many flavors as some of the other home-made ice cream places, but every flavor I tried was dreamy. My husband, who is not an ice cream junky like me, agreed it is now our "go to" ice cream parlor. He LOVED his Banana Split. I highly reccommend giving Celtic a try if you are in the area, and if you are not, it is definitely...

I recently wrote a review on Celtic Creamery Clayton that voiced some concerns that i had during my last visit there. I stand by those concerns, but I'm revising my comments now. The reason for this is the response given by the owner.
What resonated most with me was how he pointed out how much of a lasting affect reviews can have on a business. And they SHOULD. As a small business owner myself, i know how true it is that 100 good reviews can easily be drowned out by 1 bad one.
In this case, i know that Lance has created a winning business formula. He's inspired and impressed me and i'm certain that this new location will be every bit as successful as the one in Smithfield.
Best wishes and good luck,...
