Went here for years because she was close to our old house. Kept going even after we moved just because it was the only groomer our dog had been to but over the years as she got more busy the quality just went down and the prices up. She used to have lower prices than others but now she charges just as much as big groomers in nice facilities while continuing to work from her garage.

The only schedule that matters is her own and if you don't meet that schedule be prepared for unannounced fees she will pull out of the sky. There is a late pick up fee if you don't pick up your dog within a short time window after she texts you to tell you she is finished. Just be sure not to plan anything else the day you take your dog to her because sometimes she will have your dog for an hour sometimes 3 hours so you can't really plan reasonably to know when you need to pick up your dog but you better be ready when she decides you need to be. There are also late drop off fees which you never hear about until she decides she wants to charge it. Over 5 years we were late dropping off our dog 2 times and she wanted to charge a fee for it.

She is clearly in over her head at this point and as a result just doesn't care about even her long time clients anymore. She says her schedule is full so you have to schedule out all your appointments months in advance. Over 5 years we missed one appointment which was scheduled at least 3 months in advance and no reminder was ever sent so we had forgotten about the appointment and were out of town. She was furious we missed the appointment and things were never the same after. While you are never allowed to miss an appointment she will cancel them anytime she feels like it so again her schedule is the only one that matters. SEVERAL appointments over the years were rescheduled by her because she was on vacation or sick. That didn't really bother me at the time but now that I know she has a zero tolerance policy if you miss an appointment I find that totally hypocritical. Long story short there are lots of groomers out there so I'm looking forward to finding one who still cares about customers and has the capacity to handle...

Ruth is by far the most professional and caring pet groomer our family has had the pleasure of meeting. No other pet groomer has been more gentle and caring to our two scaredy-cat dogs (scaredy-dogs?)

In 2013, just after moving to Clearfield, we asked our neighbors if they knew of any pet groomers in the area. Every neighbor we asked suggested Ruth's Soft Paws Pet Grooming with great enthusiasm. Also, she was located very close to us, less than 10 houses away!

We took our scaredy-dogs to her and were extremely pleased with her work. The dogs even seem to enjoy it and have since stopped melting down once they arrive at Ruth's. Plus,the dogs always smell so good when we get them back!

Since then, we have moved to another portion of Clearfield, and undoubtedly there are other pet groomers that are closer to our current location, but we never bothered to check. Since we have found Ruth, we could not imagine going anywhere else. We have been taking our pets to Ruth for over eight years now, and could not be happier. The only problem we have is trying to figure out what we are going to do if we move out of state.

Guys! Can I just say! I love soft paws!!! The girls are amazing with moe. I used to take him to uptown bark and they would have him there for hours! He would come home just terrified and on some occasions popped blood vessels in his eyes or a skinned knee. He was in rough shape when I brought him to amber. He was nervous and sometimes would bite. We have been bringing him to her for over a year now every 2-4 months and he is soooo much better! They took him today and said they had 0 issues and that he’s a happy pup; which is why he’s so happy when I pick him up! They are so professional and friendly, always willing to squeeze me in (when they can) and I forgot to schedule. They’re literally working a two woman business with lots of growing furry clients... they don’t always answer when you call but I promise she returns EVERY CALL!! Moe is so much happier and I have peace of mind that they are loving and taking such good care of him. I honestly won’t go anywhere else.
