I’ve been out on charters with Jeremy for a while now. During the time I lived in Florida, I would go around once a month (more?) for a full day of fishing. I have since returned to Florida specifically to continue fishing with Frioud Family Charters. There are a few things people should keep in mind, when it comes to fishing with him:
There are a lot of critical points in finding a good charter captain, and of those, being considerate of the guest, putting them on fish, and ensuring they have an amazing time shouldn’t need to be highlighted - but more often than not on a lot of other charters I’ve been on, they seem to rank below the captain making money. Not so with Jeremy. Your enjoyment and experience are always at the top of his list. It’s why I have gone back to his charter time and again, and continue to do so even though I’ve moved back to Colorado. Snagged a rock? Unsnagged or broken off and repaired in minutes. Hooked a giant fish? Immediate advice, coaching, and guidance landing. Also, tips on how to best position the fish so you both look amazing in photos. Bait? All kinds, and geared for all types of target species.
If you are worried you won’t catch fish (and therefore not have a good time), then rest assured you will catch something. On my last trip, we managed a boat slam of snapper, trout, snook, and redfish. You definitely will catch fish - what you get I have no idea, as the sea is pretty fickle, but in my experience, I have never been skunked. And I’ve caught many a bull red and monster snook with Jeremy. Though, just personally, I find nothing more satisfying than hauling in the limit on snapper. I can’t get enough of snapper in stir-fry, tacos, or stewed (Taiwanese style). Snook may be better eating, but snapper is all year long!
I have always caught snapper with Jeremy, and plenty of them.
I can’t recommend Frioud Family Charters enough. I know my friends also love going out on the boat as well, and I have had to turn away a few when they hear I am coming back to do some fishing with Jeremy.
Go. Go now. Go...
Read moreIf you are living in or visiting the Pinellas County/Clearwater area and want to catch fish on a great boat with a great captain, Capt. Jeremy Frioud is your guy. This guy catches fish every time. We've done multiple charters and have never come back empty handed. Last trip we took, we brought some of our business associates visiting from out of town and we caught more Pompano than I have ever seen in my life. Captain. Frioud trained us all in the complex technique required to catch Pompano and it wasn't long before we were all bringing meat on the boat. . The charter before that was with my family, Captain Frioud is great with kids... especially kids that have never fished before... and we barely had time to do anything else but reel in giant fish. My arm was sore for days after. This Captain always has the best bait, knows the best spots and literally does everything for you, If you want to spend your time on the water catching fish and good vibes at all the best spots, this is the...
Read moreJeremy took my family out fishing while we were in town over Spring Break. I have 3 kids (11,9,6) who were all tired, very excited and lack patience. My husband and kids had never been fishing and I had very limited experience. Jeremy is easy going, funny, unbelievably patient, and so helpful. He got the kids to a spot where they caught a ton of fish and managed to bait and cast everyone while simultaneously having 3 kids continually yell for help. At the end of the morning he cleaned all of our fish and then gave us directions to a restaurant that cooked the fish for our lunch. All 3 kids agreed that it was better than Bush Gardens, Disney and Universal! He's...
