I tried a lot of different brands and models before deciding on this Cobratec. An OTF with a simple push/pull, spring loaded switch, with heavy duty springs, making it lightning fast in and out. The blade is made of D2 tool steel and holds a razor sharp edge. Pocket clip and a sheath give you many carry options. Lifetime warranty is what really sells it. I carry mine in my pocket, and have had it for about a month now, the paint is wearing in some places already. That is the only problem I have with the knife. Don't do like I did and use it to cut something in the dirt and retract it without removing the dirt from the blade, or you'll be cleaning it out to get it working again, it has zero dirt tolerance, but that is to be expected with a knife like this. If I had my choice, there wouldn't be any paint, just polished metal. EDIT: I am adding photos of my knife after a year of use. The paint is worn, and that's the only thing specifically not covered in the warranty, so I had a feeling it was going to be an issue when I bought it. Other than that, no complaints. It still works as good as the day I purchased it. It still holds a razor sharp edge, and is easy to achieve with a medium diamond grit sharpener. I e had to clean it out using warm soapy water, making sure to thoroughly dry before adding my choice of oil back to the insides, no disassembly has ever been necessary to clean. Overall, I am very satisfied...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI bought my son for his birthday one of the OTF knives, he had it for a month used it for daily activities opening mail, boxes, cutting up boxes to stripping wire working on his atv the D2 held up and kept an edge as to be expected no problems there. We went on a super wet mud ride and he packed the knives with so much sand and mud is was more like a cement mix. After the ride got home and disassembled it super easy, the sand was so packed i took an high pressure air nozzle and hit the sand and mud packed in it at about 150 psi, what i didnt realize was that i had blown out the detents that lock the blade in positions till after I i given it a ultra sonic bath and started putting it back together. I did have to make a few phone calls to get ahold of them but when I did they said they could send me the parts but they have to charge for them and well they should as the end user lost the part, then he said just send it in and they would give it a good going over and replace the parts under their warranty. This was 100 percent not a warranty claim and I should have to pay as I messed it up, nothing wrong what so ever in the product. They fixed it and had it back in 10 days no questions asked. This was 100 percent a customer satisfaction thing on their end and they made me super happy with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've carried my CT daily for 7 years. Great knife, excellent construction, dual action OTF knives are notorious for jamming and blade looseness, but not these, it's tight when deployed, reliable, crisp open and close action, sturdy, and best of all, if it ever does have a mechanical issue, they stand behind their product's lifetime warranty without fail. Had to send it in for repairs on a stuck return spring recently, and through my severe use and abuse it's logo has eventually worn off, causing a bit of confusion, which is where exceptional customer service of Tyler Duncan came in, he called me out of concern that it might not be one of their products, (Keep in mind that through 7 years of product refinement, my first generation knife looks quite a bit different than the current models,) and when I told him I was working and couldn't talk, he agreed to correspond via text, not long after we had sorted out my prior order number, and that it was theirs, but mor importantly, he advised me he had my knife fixed within that same hour and would get it sent back to me shortly. Prompt, skilled, and courteous warranty care from a US knife manufacturer? I'll be a customer for life. Thank you CT for the best daily use knife I've ever owned, and for standing behind your product...
