The roaches in the bathroom should have been the inclination to leave before we ever ordered. Our service was terrible. The flies were so bad that we spent more time shooing them away than eating our food. Was the food good? Super greasy and chips were stale. We were the only customers in the restaurant and when we ask for a fly swatted or a means to keep the flies off of us the host at the cashier said she was not allowed to let us use a fly swatted or anything to kill the flies with. The quality of food has gone down, as has the service but then again that's been everywhere since Covid. This however doesn't excuse seating a family of three and then waiting on the other three tables that come in after. I had a terrible experience years ago but have it another chance with my family. I chose the chicken tender salad, only to receive cut up chicken nuggets, shredded lettuce, half an avocado sliced up and cheese that melted on top. As I said before, I love a good dive. The ones that are big enough to be right in between a good restaurant and a good dive are often hit or miss. This one was definitely a hit! Still has that lovely Hometown, Family Restaurant kind of feel to it. The service was amazing, we were not the only people in the place, but we had three different people during our meal coming to check on us. The food was amazing. I had the jalisca fajitas, and my companion, the shrimp. So much food! And they sent me off with salsa and chips to go with my to go box. Salsa, btw?...
