Somehow my review got deleted so I will review again. Came here to the ER 03/2018 with severe abdominal pain I could barely walk/stand. First off the ER nurses were very rude and unprofessional/unpleasant to be around. I was throwing up couldnât keep anything down thatâs how much pain I was in. Told the physician my symptoms her name was Kimberly Johnson I will never ever forget her name. She took my blood and an ultrasound and said I was very anemic (I have NEVER been anemic in my whole life & told her that) and she told me to go get vitamins and eat something to get my iron back up. I was just like ok left feeling the same way I came in. Went and got vitamins tried to eat something and I couldnât. I only got worse as the night went on I actually felt like I was suffocating. Thatâs because I got a call from a 2nd radiologist Dr. Stodard who reviewed my ultrasound when he came in he called me about 6AM the next morning and said I had blood filled in my entire abdomen and was pretty much slowly bleeding out internally. I could have DIED any minute after I had left that hospital the night before. I was in shock. I have two small boys who depend on me I was fighting for my life and I could feel it. I tried expressing this to Kimberly the original physician I had seen and she didnât listen. I got to the hospital ASAP after he called me that morning my doctors from Geisinger were there waiting for me and it was immediate prep for the OR. Again the nurses in the ER were so very rude just being so negative around me saying stuff about my doctor when they knew I was prepping for a surgery it was awful. The ICU nurses were very nice to me and my recovery nurses in the maternity section thatâs where they transferred me to recover they were all very nice and helpful. I donât know why the ER nurses are so rude there though.I was so thankful to have geisinger doctors I donât know if I would have survived if it had been Mt. Nittany since they couldnât even diagnose me properly or hear me out. What was suppose to be a minor laparoscopy ended up being a 4 hour major abdominal surgery. But I am thankful to be alive and forever thankful to my surgeons who helped saved my life. DEMAND ANSWERS FROM THESE PEOPLE DO NOT LEAVE THIS PLACE UNTIL YOU HAVE AN ANSWER PLEASE FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR LIFE! I hope this review helps some people considering going here and hoping the doctors/physicians and ER nurses can change their attitudes and LISTEN to...
Read moreI don't understand what people have against this hospital, but I can't think of enough of good things to say Each one of my kids have been here for one reason or another and each time they were treated with respect, the nurses and Dr listen to our concerns, but the most recent trip is what had me decide to give them five stars.. My three-year-old grandson had RSV. At the point of diagnosis he was well hydrated still active and had a small cough. A few days later he took a turn and been running a fever and was lethargic. . I took him to the emergency room. Not only was there no wait, he was taken back and put in a room immediately. The first thing they checked was his oxygen which showed it was low. Before they did anything else they got him on oxygen and made him comfortable. The two nurses in the ER that were attending to my grandson were so patient, and very kind. The doctor that was there wasted no time after that getting his blood work and chest x-ray done. Unfortunately my little man developed pneumonia from the RSV. Because of the low oxygen he was admitted and the nurses up in the pediatric ward were absolutely amazing.! Mount Nittany even found something with my grandson's heart that wasn't anything to worry about but they found it nonetheless! They said it would be good to know for the future. I want to give a huge thank you to Dr Rachel Zimmerman for being patient with me and explaining things to me about my grandsons healthy that I may not have experienced with my own children. You have an amazing bedside manner and I can tell you really care for your patients . I definitely want to give a big shout out to nurse Rachel on the pediatric floor. She is kind, caring, and compassionate with her patients. My grandson absolutely LOVED her! He wouldn't even allow me to put his chapstick on for his lips, he had to have nurse Rachel come do it. đ I just want to let you guys know that I thank you from the bottom of my heart for making my grandsons hospital stay comfortable and easing any fears he showed.. Hes doing so much...
Read moreThis is the WORST hospital I have ever been to in my life. I have a chronic illness and was a student at Penn State before I had to withdraw from said illness and this hospital was my only option. The health center on campus sent me to the ER. I was admitted. Things were fine the first night and I was about to be discharged, but I fainted IN THE HOSPITAL AND BROKE MY NOSE. The doctor admitted me for a second night. She wouldn't give me tylenol or advil for the pain and she put me on SUICIDE WATCH! I had to have people watch me use the bathroom. It was degrading. All because I fainted. She told me that there was nothing wrong with me and that I had Munchausens and was doing this to myself. She said I was a drug-seeking teenager and she wasn't going to play my games. She then started screaming at me - and I screamed back. It was unprofessional and ridiculous. The she had a psychiatrist come in and evaluate me. The psychiatrist said she didn't believe anything was wrong and that I actually WAS ill, but the when she told that to the doctor, the doctor refused to believe it. Really?? My dad tried to call and speak with the head nurse or doctor while I was admitted and they refused. They said I hadn't given consent even though I had many times. Also when I asked for an ice pack for my nose the nurse screamed at me and said "there are people on this floor DYING!"
My hospital stay was like an episode from the Twilight Zone. I did nothing wrong. STAY AWAY. This is the worst hospital in the world. I hate that I even have to give it 1 star. I am now diagnosed with POTS, a condition KNOWN for fainting so take that you stupid doctor. I wish I remembered her name. I am not the type of person who would ever sue someone but we were considering it because my rights were violated and I was injured among other things.
If you get admitted to this hospital,...
