A Disappointing Experience at the Golf Club
Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1 out of 5 stars)
Review:
Where do I even begin? This golf club in the state of New Jersey has left me utterly dismayed. While the course itself boasts nice greens, that is unfortunately where the positives come to an abrupt halt. My interactions with the staff have been nothing short of appalling, as they consistently display an appalling level of rudeness. The golf pros and management seem to view customers as beneath them, which is both disheartening and disrespectful.
I have had the misfortune of visiting this establishment twice now, and on both occasions, it has been a complete nightmare. I am left questioning whether this place even knows whether it wants to be a club or a public course. From my experience, it comes across as a subpar club and an even worse public course. The lack of consistency and professionalism is evident.
To add insult to injury, I was shocked when my veteran friend and I inquired about any benefits offered to veterans, only to be told that there were none. Are our veterans, who have risked their lives for our country, not deserving of any recognition or appreciation? This is utterly unacceptable. Veterans should be welcomed and honored at every opportunity, especially when they wish to enjoy a game of golf. The fact that this club fails to acknowledge their sacrifice is simply deplorable.
I implore the owners of this establishment to take a long, hard look at their facility. If their intention is to create an environment where customers are mistreated by the staff, then they are succeeding beyond measure. However, if their goal is to establish a welcoming and customer-centric establishment, they have failed miserably. It is high time for them to reassess their priorities and consider alternative options.
In conclusion, my experience at this golf club has been nothing short of a disappointment. I encourage potential visitors to think twice before subjecting themselves to the rude staff, lack of veteran recognition, and overall poor management. It is my sincere hope that this review serves as a wake-up call for the owners to rectify the numerous issues plaguing this...
Read moreHonestly, this place is garbage. They're living off of the fact that they're in colts neck and then treat clients like garbage if they don't think that you're wealthy enough or you're a woman. My wife tried to play here and kept getting delayed on a tee time by the pro so a bunch of men could keep teeing off. When asked why it was explained to her that the "men behind her didn't want to play slow." My wife is a scratch golfer... so they just judged her by the fact that she was a walk on and a woman and then acted like they were better than her. The pro is also creepy my daughter reported that he made her uncomfortable when she talked to him. After i played the course I can honestly say it's not a very good course. The difficulty of the course comes from lost balls in long grass and rough, while in bounds, they don't cut their rough so if you're not on the fairway your ball drops into the deep grass and you can't find it, then between all of their fairways they have long links type grass. Beyond that they just use OB, roads and frustration to make the course difficult. It's not cleverly designed and the greens are straight flat. The whole premise of this place is to make rich colts neck residents feel special and exclusive. Don't waste your time, there are plenty of better courses in the area. Also, the load up with high schools in the spring and while the kids don't cause any problems the pros verbally treat the kids disrespectfully and like they don't matter. I saw one of the pros, behind the desk tell one of the coaches that they couldn't tee off until 6 pm and that he had canceled their 4pm tee time for other members. I'll never go somewhere that treats kids who want to play the game so poorly. Avoid Cotlsneck at all costs. Trump and Pebble Creek are right down the street. Not to mention the Monmouth county courses. What a waste of time and money.
The other members here are jerks. One road up on me in his golf cart (I was walking with my wife) and demanded to play through because he was playing 3 golf balls and had to be "back at the hospital...
Read moreI made an online tee time for my son and his friend to play on a Saturday in Feb. My son came home and said all tee boxes and greens were temporary, so the conditions were not good and the course played extremely short. As well, the GPS they provided was of no use because of the temporaries. There was no notification on the website when I made the tee time that there were temporary tee boxes and greens.
When my son came home and told me everything was temporary, I called the course. They said they would call back. No one called back. I again called the next day, and was told since the boys played the round there would be no refund. She said I should have known that in February there would be temporaries. I told her the boys have been playing at the county courses all winter and there have been no temporaries. And they are kids, they don't know to challenge adults for a reduced rate because of all of the temporaries. The course should offer reduced rates under those conditions without someone needing to ask. Or at the least, when you make the online tee time, it should notify you of the temporaries so you can back out of the reservation if you feel the price is too steep for what amounts to be an executive course with poor conditions.
This is the second year in a row we've had an issue with this course and the people at the course caring more about our money than us. I recommend that if you're looking for somewhere to play in Monmouth County, you look at the beautifully-maintained county courses or other...
