Bones Theatre — Local services in Columbia City

Is this place the cheapest around? No. Does it have the best selections and a wide variety movie times? No. Then why will I always drive out of Warsaw (where there is a "larger", and "better equipped" theater) and head to Bones every time I want to see a movie? Because...

Bones makes me feel like I am appreciated and wanted there, as a customer and guest. The staff are always kind and thoughtful. The seats recline, the temperature is always an appropriate level and the sound is great.

I hesitate to write out this last section, due to the negativity of the content, but in comparison to other theaters, which shall remain nameless, here is a list of things that do NOT happen at Bones:

I can not hear other movies while watching the movie I spent money to see. The staff are not rude to me, ignore me, or are condescending to me. They do not keep the theaters freezing in the winter and humid and hot in the summers. I am not treated like a potential criminal and watched and checked on constantly. The theater is not over crowded.

My only thing I wish that the theater improved? Sending staff in to make sure no one is talking. Usually I love going to the movies. But tonight? I barely heard any of the movie. My family of 3 saw Mindcraft, since it was the only showing for the day. And the row behind me (teenagers and young men) and the row above them (young boys I assume10-14) Would not STOP TALKING. FROM BEGINNING TO END. My entire sit through of the movie was non stopped listening to them loud as ever in my ear. And the whole theater heard them. It's a small theater, maybe 15-10 rows max. I felt bad for the staff too, because after the movie let out, these young boys were practically screaming in the small lobby. I could hear them from the other side of the building. The staff to not deserve to have their eardrums burst from loud children, who by the way, also did NOT have an adult with them, who don't know how to behave like human beings in public. The rule of "being asked to leave and no refunds" needs to be enforced. I paid to see a movie. Not listen to teenagers and boys. Probably not gonna be...

Went here last night to see Scream VI. I have not been here since right before COVID. I normally go to AMC since I am a member there. But it was a nice change of pace going to Bones. I’ve been to numerous theatres, and seen a ton of movies. I’m a self-proclaimed expert. And I love this small town theater. I miss coming here like I did back in high school. Staff was very friendly and quick. Place was clean. Chairs were incredibly comfortable. Popcorn was amazing. Prices are hard to beat. Sound was great, as well as the picture. Was it imax quality? No. And it doesn’t need to be. If you want imax quality, go to an imax theater. And then we’ll all have to hear you complain about the prices of imax. For a regular digital showing, I give Bones a 10/10. One of the coolest things they do is selling the posters. I bought a 4x6 Scream vinyl for $10. I wish they still had an Avatar one. Would’ve paid $100! But oh well. All in all, love...
