Let's start with the pros. It's small, easy to get in and out but don't show up an hour before your flight and be in a panic to get on your flight. Give yourself more time.
The cons, super crowded for just 6 or so??? gates. One food concession inside the terminal once you go through security with very long lines. Don't come hungry. The vending machines are very unreliable, half are broken. The staff is unreliable. You can definitely do better navigating your own travel plans but you need to use the app for whatever airline you're flying. I was originally on a flight that was leaving Kalispell at 10:05am to Denver and then Denver to Newark NJ. I am also traveling with my son Nick. That flight was significantly delayed due to a mechanical issue 4:30pm! With no hope of making a connection in Denver, I was able to do what airport sub contractor, Unifi, was not able to do. I was able to change the delayed Denver flight to the one going to Chicago and then on to Newark. Neither the ticket agent at the front of the building or the gate agent could help me. The ticket agent was more concerned with dealing with people in line checking in for other flights then dealing with my issue and was asked to step aside! I had been there since 8:30am, an hour and a half before my flight. I'm not sure if it was because of incompetence on the ticket agents part or their computer system needed to be updated but you don't just ask someone to step aside. I was able to rebook my flight going through Chicago and then on to Newark using the United Airlines App.
My takeaway is make sure you're there with plenty of time before your flight leaves, don't come hungry, and make sure you have the airline app downloaded to your phone that you're...
Read moreI sustained physical, mental and emotional injury to my health from TSA Kalispell airport. I request to compensate for my injury and to apologize to me. I simply lifted my skirt to help TSA to do required search. I hoped that this would help her to accomplish the task she suppose to do for public safety on airplane. My skirt is below my knees, when I raised it I made it mini. What happened next was a nightmare... What kind of potential threat does a USA disabled citizen represent in this situation and how does all what happened protect public safety? Does TSA protect us from terror or are they put in power to intimidate and harass passengers? They did not exhibit even simple respect to an aging, disabled person or any person on earth!
Harassment of passengers, lack of professionalism, lack of basic customer service skills, and inability to recognize underlying medical conditions and needs of passengers! national security is the purpose of TSA, not a pat down grandma or disabled person. Is purpose of TSA is harassment of passengers who break some nonhuman rules due to medical condition or confusion? For what reason should TSA get massive amounts of federal money and fail to properly train hired personnel? Instead, TSA apparently hires untrained, cruel, unfriendly people who abuse the power and humiliate people instead of helping them to have a pleasant travel experience.
I claim Personal Injury to my health and emotional stress from inciting fear, threats, and harassment to my person during the screening process. Surely no one deserves this kind of treatment from servants of the...
Read moreGlacier Park International Airport (aka Kalispell Airport) is a gem for those traveling to the beautiful Glacier National Park area. The airport is currently undergoing a significant renovation, and the updates so far look fantastic. About half of the airport is complete, and you can already see how much more modern and comfortable the experience will be once the work is done.
Because this is such a small airport, it is incredibly easy and convenient to navigate. Security lines are generally short, making the check-in process quick and stress-free. The pickup and drop-off areas are well-organized and nearby, so there’s no hassle when arriving or departing.
One thing to note is the limited dining options, with essentially just one option. With the ongoing renovations, hopefully, the second half of the airport will include additional dining choices, which would be a welcome improvement.
The rental car services are conveniently located right outside the terminal, making it easy to get on the road to explore the stunning surroundings. Also, the airport’s proximity to Glacier National Park means you can be in the heart of nature in no time after landing.
In summary, Glacier Park International Airport offers a smooth, easy-going travel experience with exciting improvements on the horizon. Just keep in mind the limited food options and be prepared for a bit of construction as they finish the renovations. Oh, and they also have great wifi that connects...
