A group of people and me flew into this part of Montana recently, aiming to have a nice vacation at the Glacier National Park. We landed with a couple hours to kill before our ride arrived, so we settled in at the Goat Haunt Saloon. Seemingly the only sit down bar/restaurant in the airport.
Ambiance was nice. Plenty of loungey seating available near the beautiful bar and surrounded by the giant windows looking out upon the tarmac. We had no issues getting comfy and eating and drinking while we waited.
Service was really great. We had a nice local who gave us some tips and tricks about the area, and she made genuine recommendations. We trusted her. She got us our drinks in a timely manner. No mocktails at this bar, though. Not too surprising for Montana.
As for the food, it was good! I had a cheeseburger. It had a nice bun, was cooked well, had a nice char, plenty of fresh veg toppings, a very nice burger. I ordered the crinkle fries, though. Don't. Get the chips instead. They were much better.
I also got to try the fried chicken mac 'n' cheese. Wow, this was good! The mac was just the right amount of cheesy, the chicken was fried extra crispy, wasn't too oily, and was served in a nice Montana-sized portion. Very yummy.
Overall, if you happen to be stuck at this airport, the Goathaunt Saloon would be an excellent use of your time and stomach space....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter a flight cancellation my family decided to eat at Goat Haunt Saloon in the Glacier Airport. My son has Alpha-gal and canāt have red meat and has to worry about cross contamination. He ordered a chicken burrito. After ordering our waitress came back and said the cook couldnāt cook it separately in a frying pan and would only make it on the grill (shared) because he was too busy. This is the first restaurant in 2 years and 4 countries that refused to cook his food separately. Shame on you Goat Haunt.
To clarify we were told no twice by the both the waitress and the manager who told me the cook refused to cook my sonās meal in a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe all know airport food, gifts, etc. are more expensive than average. With that being said, I stop at this quick eatery shop to grab coffee and a small sandwich. Needless to say the sandwich was super super pricey, which is fine (Iām at the airport). The kicker to this place beside the over priced sandwich and coffee was how horrible it was. It tasted old and gross!! I was pissed I paid for such a bad piece of food. The cherry on top of this horrendous experience was the bad, no-personality, unhappy clerks at the counter. Overall a bad choice in my opinion with a recommendation to...
