After knowing and working with Patrick for nearly three years, I wouldn't trust anyone else as my jeweler. He's taken family heirlooms that were beautiful in themselves and created gorgeous updated pieces that my fiance and I love and are excited to wear. As a teacher and a nanny, we can say that the prices he charges for his meticulous work are very fair.
The first thing Patrick did for us was to create an engagement ring. He worked with my fiance, taking heirloom diamond earrings, adding a beautiful deep red ruby and creating a beautiful ring which I've gotten countless compliments on over the past few years. He is happy to clean it for me as needed.
After seeing what he did with the earrings, I had a feeling he would know how to take an heirloom necklace of my grandmother's from outdated to something I would love wearing again, and he did just that. While he made only minor cosmetic differences to it's shape, the care and attention he paid to cleaning it up made it shine almost unrecognizably when I picked it up.
Finally (and this is my favorite part!), I took Patrick a ring that my great aunt had gotten from her parents when she turned 16, hoping it could be used as my wedding ring. It was badly damaged, and he took time to show me under the microscope. He also explained how jewelers shaped diamonds around the time when she was a teenager, which explained why the stone wasn't perfectly cut. Him taking the time to do that added even more sentimental value to the piece. I told him I didn't want to change the way it looked, and he followed through. I was thrilled with it after he replaced the setting.
He also resized my fiance's wedding ring.
I feel like Patrick has really has a good understanding of my style and working with him is always a pleasure. I wouldn't trust...
Read morePatrick is absolutely great. If you are looking for a place to repair or get something new, stop reading and go to Patrick. My Fiancé and I unfortunately did not have a great experience with a different jeweler and were very skeptical of going to a jeweler again. However, I found Kings Contrivance Jewelers through google and read all the reviews (yes, I read them all) and decided to take a leap of faith. The reviews that state that Patrick is honest are completely true. Patrick will not try to sell you a specific ring, for example. He wants to help you find what you want, but ensure that you know exactly what to expect from the ring. He will talk you through each ring and the pros and cons of it. He has gained a plethora of knowledge through his 31 years of experience and is not afraid to indulge you with it when trying to find the best thing for you. I personally feel like I can trust him and trust the ring that I bought is not only great quality but will last many years to come. Keep in mind that Patrick works for himself so anything he sells or repairs is on his name - so he is willing to go far and beyond to make sure the customer knows what they are getting and what to expect. Don't be afraid to ask him questions! For those of you who do not like the blunt, honest truth Patrick will give you, then I suggest you go elsewhere where someone makes you "believe" you are getting something better than you are. Some might not like Patrick's honesty, but it is far better than being scammed or having disappointment in the future about something you did not think was going to happen, happen! Thank you so much Patrick for giving me a great experience!! I will be returning in the future with my Fiancé to get our...
Read moretldr: Patrick is patient, well-spoken, fair and thoughtful. All of this made purchasing an engagement ring from him a wonderful experience.
I had an idea from researching online what I was looking for in an engagement ring, but I did not want to purchase online nor in a busy, chain-style jewelry store. After reading excellent reviews, I stopped in Patrick's shop to see what he had. I did not want anything pre-made, so Patrick helped me pick out a setting that I liked and one that was a "good" fit. He explained to me what a good setting is, how it will hold the diamond, the right kind of metal to get, etc. He didn't just say my choice was good, either, rather he showed me other settings and showed me what made mine "better" over them, and the setting I ended up choosing wasn't even the most expensive setting! Patrick focused on finding a perfect setting, that met both my aesthetic needs as well as my utilitarian needs. With regards to the diamond, Patrick explained to me what a "good" diamond was beyond the 4 C's, this very much impressed me, as this was information I hadn't come across when digging online. Patrick hand-picked the diamond that I ended up choosing, and I couldn't be any happier.
All in all, the thing that impressed me the most was Patrick's commitment to ensuring that whatever I got, whatever my budget was, that it was the best piece I could...
