We found a stunning prom dress here that fit my daughter beautifully (just a little long). They don’t allow you to zip up the dresses yourself when trying on, only a staff member can, which is understandable to probably help prevent damage with so many trying them on. If I helped my daughter though, I would’ve realized there was definitely an issue with the zipper. The girl helping my daughter had a little trouble with the zipper, but when I asked if everything was ok with it, she assured me it was fine. They were very busy that day trying to help multiple girls with dresses so I chalked it up to her just trying to hurry too quickly when trying to zip it up. It also has a corset tying up the back that took some time and as I mentioned they were rushing trying to help everyone. Fast forward to today when we dropped her dress off to be hemmed, she put it on and the seamstress and myself could not get the zipper to zip beyond a certain point about midway up. The seamstress told us the dress needs a new zipper due to having a “memory” that is causing it to not grip correctly and using force to make it zip will lead to tearing. Again, we absolutely love the dress, just disappointed that this was brushed over when we were buying it like it was totally fine when it wasn’t. Overall the dress material is wonderful quality, but I wish I wouldn’t have relied on someone telling me the zipper was ok, when it wasn’t and now I have to pay $40 to have a zipper replaced on a brand new dress. I should mention all sales are final here so we can’t return and possibly order another one. Even with this inconvenience, I would still recommend this place for finding a beautiful dress, just make sure if it has a zipper, you double check it before purchase! I just wanted to rave about this cute little boutique & the experience my daughter and I just had there. We have traveled here for the last 3 years in search of a HOCO dress, making the 2-2 1/2 hour trip down from where we live. Each year we were successful in finding a dress, but this year was different…for a good reason! Not only did my daughter find a dress, but for the 1st year ever she had trouble narrowing down which dress was “it” this year. I personally believe it was because of the lovely young lady that was working that day (7/15). She was knowledgeable about the dresses, quickly figured out what style my daughter preferred, friendly & welcoming. This year was our BEST experience here & I hope she realizes that she was a big factor in it! I hope when we return for prom dress shopping that she is working....

My daughter has been searching for her senior prom dress for over a month. She had started to become discouraged and willing to settle just so she could have a dress for prom. We stumbled upon Gowntastic one Sunday and had the best escorting. Now compared to other Prom Dress stores this one is considerably smaller but the selection of dresses, the extra care taken to protect the dresses and the service provided to my daughter, made all the differencein the world. The owner was able to find the dress my daughter wanted in a different color and different size for her to try on and the ordered the specific color and size needed to me her requests. The dress was ordered and received with 4 business days. We lived the attention this site provided and will add to my daughter's senior memories. ...
