Awful expierence! I guess even though they're located directly next to Menards they never get people in there dressed like they're doing home improvement? Or maybe their employees are always extremely rude! On our way to pick up some stuff to work on our house, we decided to stop in and look for new shoes for my husband. They happened to be having a sale, so we stocked up on some new clothes too. I guess Linda didn't approve of our attire because she looked my husband and I up and down, ...she must have missed my Coach purse I had set on the counter when she glared at my teeshirt and cut off shorts. She picked up a shirt I got for my daughter and said "you realize this isn't on sale, right?" I said, Yes I'm aware. I thought it was odd, but it was a big sale so maybe she had some people surprised by what wasn't on sale. She then says to me "so you understand this shirt is $18, right?" Is this woman for real? Yes! I'm aware! Do your job and ring it up! She then proceeds to loudly rattle off the price of every single item we bought that day and ends it with "Your total is $XXX.XX, are you prepared to pay that?" I swear to God!!! I damn near lost it! We paid and walked out...only to discover she didn't bother to check either pair of shoes we bought for security tags. We were able to walk out the door alarm free (fabulous loss prevention there BTW...) but walked right back in to have her remove them, at which point she started acting like we stole them until I held my receipt out and she shut up quick.
I called and spoke with the "manager" on duty who, of course, appologised profusely and promised a callback to "make it right" after she spoke with the employee...I'm sure it's no surprise that no one ever called me back. I did not call for free stuff, I will more than likely never shop there again, but integrity says a lot about a company. Their actions definitely lost them a lifelong customer that spent a good chunk of income in...
Read moreI walked in here just needing a pair of work pants. I honestly never shop here but I was in desperate need of finding something business casual and quickly. When I first walked in I had several employees look at me and watch me, but none asked if I needed any help. Rude.
I started walking around the store because I have no honest idea where I'm going. After walking around for about 3 minutes I finally find the womens' section. The racks were placed so closely together that I have having issues walking through the isles without knocking items off the racks. I cold tell that several other people must of been having the same problem because there were clothes all over the place. Clothes were laying on the floor, over the racks, and some items were even shoved inside the shelves.
Once I finally found the kind of pants I needed I head to the dressing rooms to try them on. The dressing rooms were the same kind of disaster. Clothes were scattered all over the floors, inside and outside the rooms. The carpet looked absolutely scary. I did not want my feet touching the dirty floor.
One thing I did appreciate, as I was checking out apparently there was a coupon in the newspaper. The employee who checked me out used the coupon on me. That made my $45 pants go down to $25. She is the only reason this review has 3...
Read moreI stopped in the Columbus JCP last Saturday (10/26) about 20 minutes before closing time to grab a couple shirts for my significant other. I easily found what I needed (the big and tall section was well organized: there’s a star) and went to check out (the employee who checked us out was WONDERFUL! = the other star). The manager on duty was HORRIBLE. She was yelling at her employees to get closing duties done (in front of customers). Only one register was open, so another employee went to open a second one to help clear out the long line of people trying to check out. The manager yelled at her for trying to open a register (in front of customers) when she had already counted it down. Then snapped at another employee who had brought up a pile of clothing from the dressing room to re-hang and fold (“I didn’t ask you to do that up here! Take them back and do it back there!”) Then groaned exasperated and rubbed her temples in an overly dramatic fashion. All of the employees looked extremely uncomfortable, as did the 10 or so customers who were all standing around watching this happen. Columbus JCP, get it together. Your part time employees were 1 million times better than your management. Being that I need, and appreciate, the Big & Tall section, Omaha will be getting my business...
