Lambert Lumber & Home Center — Local services in Commerce

Most folks around Cooper who know me can agree that "I'm so tight, I squeak." Most can also agree that we Cooperites have become accustomed to paying a "Premium for convenience" in that shopping local generally costs more than shopping for same/like items in Sulphur Springs, Commerce, and surrounding communities. I reached the point a couple of years ago that unless it's an emergency purchase, I'll delay until I'm in town (any other town) before purchasing what I want/need.

So when Lambert Lumber & Home Center - Cooper opened their doors, I was a bit skeptical, expecting much the same as before.

While no retail store can stock everything, I've found this new store to be pretty well stocked and Ms. Julie and the staff do all they can to keep it that way. My initial small purchases have been comparably priced, but nuts and bolts or a PVC connector does not a major purchase make.

This past week, I was able to put Lambert Lumber & Home Center - Cooper to the test for a major purchase of building materials. Much to my surprise, in an "Apples-to-Apples" comparison to a major hardware chain in Sulphur Springs, the folks at Lambert, without any prompting on my part, came in a mere $2.12 higher than their competitor. I can't drive a truck and trailer to Sulphur Springs and back for $2!

Kudos to Mr. John, Ms. Julie, Mr. Andy, and all the good folks at Lambert Lumber & Home Center - Cooper. It's nice to have a hometown store I'm proud to support for all my needs. ...
