I cannot speak highly enough about Migala on Gull Road in Kalamazoo, but specifically Kim and Joe Sikkema!! (Kim IS part superwoman...you've been tipped off!) In 2015 when we built our forever home...much to our dismay, our builder had one of the worst tile and flooring subcontractors in the West Michigan. Our contract, as many do, locked us in to using our builder's subcontractors. I've never seen sloppier work and I've seen a lot. We fought to be able to bring in an outside contactor and completely rip out ALL the brand new tile in our master bath and kitchen; looked like the work of someone drunk on the job.

After a strong recommendation from a family member in town, we chose Migala for the renovations on our brand new home (cringe) and wish they'd been on our crew right from the jump. With their guidance, the work in kitchen and master bath turned out beautifully!!

SIX YEARS LATER: Never imagined we'd do anything more our home, but we have been under construction for the last 9 months building a necessary addition off our garage, for health reasons- during COVID. We hired a different builder, obviously, but sadly we ended up with BIG problems that he was unsure how to address. Completely different problems (unrelated to any Covid caused industry delay) but they were "job-stopping" issues putting us painfully behind schedule. I called Kim Sikkema not sure what to do. Kim jokingly asked me, "Kate- why didn't you call me when you started this, project?!" That was a very good question because my husband and I were asking ourselves that very thing. Once again, without skipping a beat, Kim dove in and helped me save this sinking ship. She really is part superhero, knows just about EVERYthing, is down to earth...and she's compassionate. I'm immunocompromised- not what you want to be during a global pandemic. Kim handled and coordinated things in order to keep me safe & out of the showroom. She nailed everything I was looking for and even things I wasn't- Kim would meet me in the parking lot, send things to my house if I wanted to see something in person. When I say she saved this project with me- it's no exaggeration. We will be done, barring any natural disasters, in a month. We would have been lost without Migala, yet again.

This nearly year-long project involved many choices, opinions and preferences - ALL made easier with the help and advice of Kim Sikkema from Migala Carpet One. Kim is extremely knowledgeable about her product and went out of her way to give me the confidence to make final choices. Orders were made in a timely fashion and Kim always did her very best to schedule the tile people to start the many projects that Migala Carpet One did for us as quickly as she could.
