Restaurant Depot — Local services in Concord

We were shopping at restaurant depot in Concord, CA when an employee of Restaurant Dept backed up with his forklift operator where my husband, daughter, brother and I were standing at the entrance of the produce section. We were unaware of the movement of the forklift but could hear the sound of a rapidly moving object coming towards our backs. My brother alerted my husband and I of the forklift moving our way. My husband turned around and proceeded to ask the forklift operator if he had seen us standing at the entrance of the produce section. He abruptly responded that he did and rhetorically asked if we heard the sound of the forklift with a smirk on his face. Note: I am in my late term of pregnancy already barely managing to stand on my feet and this employee of Restaurant Depot put the safety of my family and I at RISK, with no regards for our presence in the store as customers. We approached the employee to at least seek some form of apology, but he rushed away and gave us the finger. We caught a picture of him walking away and giving us the middle finger. We requested to speak with the manager to report the incident and review the tapes to confirm the occurrence of the incident. The manager refused and instead gave us a blank piece of paper (contrary to a formal incident form) to write down our complaint. My husband asked for an incident form, but he refused to provide one under the pretext that the company does not have such a form. I have no legal background but question if what occurred is legal. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. This is not right and we surely deserve better respect as customers!!!! If I could rate this store, I would surely give them an abject ZERO!!! The one star does not do justice to the risk we were exposed to. We will for sure never again be shopping...

HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE!

We’ve been a customer of Restaurant Depot for 8 years and always shopped in Oakland. When we heard about this concord Restaurant Depot we figured we save some gas and come here. Everything was fine EXCEPT for the service we received from the cashier. We didn’t get her name but she has short black hair and she’s caucasian. The way she was scanning was like she wasn’t even paying attention to what she was doing. She was rude to that customer by ignoring their questions when they asked why it did not go through and that this was the first time they had an issue with their jetro card @ this concord shopping center. The customer in front of us had an issue so she printed out their receipt and gave it to customer service for review. However when she scanned our shopping and we paid, she never cleared the previous customers shopping from her cashier so we ended up paying for our shopping and the other customers shopping.

The next time you wanna do your job right, PAY ATTENTION to what you’re doing and don’t be rude about it. Your center has to be built on a foundation of great customer service to ensure employees are performing at their highest standard. But TODAY?! She didn’t. She was unsuitable and gave an untrue cost that we ended up having to pay. This is exactly why new companies in new cities need to stop hiring people who aren’t fit for a job that they cannot handle with care and respect. We won’t be coming back here again and it was only our first time shopping at this concord Restaurant Depot. Its no wonder why people shop outside of their city because people like that can’t do their job right. What a waste of $800.00 !!! DO BETTER CONCORD RESTAURANT DEPOT!! Im going back to...
