Historic Acres of Hershey PA — Local services in Conewago Township

We rented this venue for our wedding and we cannot be more pleased! The property itself is just stunning and so open. We felt so confident the day of our wedding with our choice of venue. There were absolutely no problems with the reception hall, farmhouse or outdoor ceremony space. Everything was taken care of the way we discussed with Katie at our final walkthrough. Katie and Melodie were so wonderful to work with as well. From the beginning, they were so responsive to emails and phone calls and provided advice for vendors and last minute questions. I never felt like I was a bother to them and whenever I was there in person or over the phone, I had their complete attention. Katie was so helpful the last few months making sure that we had all the required items in the contract and provided information for all the questions we had. We also rented the farmhouse for both the night of and before our wedding. It was the best choice and so worth the additional money. The house was just so cute and perfect for what we needed. There was only portable AV units inside, but they were placed in the bedroom spaces. Our guests and photographers could not get over how beautiful the grounds and reception hall were. We went to visit 5+ venues with Historic Acres being the first of the bunch. Every single venue we went to see after this one, we compared it - but none gave us everything that Historic Acres gave us. Once we decided to use Historic Acres for both our ceremony & reception we started working with Melodie. She was there at a drop of a hat to answer any crazy questions I had no matter what they were! Melodie did more than we could've asked from the day we booked, up until the day of our big event. Close to our date we started working with Katie as well, she was just as helpful & answered any crazy questions I had. Our catering company gave us a couple issues with payments & such, but Melodie & Katie "took over" and made sure it all got handled so I didn't have to stress about making sure that the catering company paid the money that was due to Historic Acres the day of. The day of the wedding we needed to start earlier than what we could get in to the house, the girls at Historic Acres allowed us to use the reception barn to start hair & makeup until the house was ready, which helped us out so much. I rented this venue because it’s beautiful, but the people there have given me a very hard time for my event. I have been nothing but respectful and responsive towards their rules. I have cleaned and left their property in a responsible manner as well. As you know, this is not a cheap location. I have paid over $1000 for the barn hall. They came back to me and told me I incurred property damage on the outside. I asked for proof and they charged me $500.00 in damage for some pulled flowers. None of their videos showed any pulled flowers damage done by the kids. I simply feel they are discriminating against my ethnicity. I have been in the hospitality and service industry for over 15 years and I can never treat my clients like that. Please see photos below for which they claim the kids at my party did, and that cost $500.00 in “property damage”. These can be blown away by winds and heavy rain. They have no proof to show me but these pictures. It’s not about the $500.00 dollars for me, but I feel really disappointed that I have given business to people who simply is harassing me based on my ethnicity or god knows what.
