I frequent this store when I am in town. Last week I happened to stop in and was buying some necessities. I was having difficulty accessing my money within my accounts. For several minutes during checkout, I was taking things off, adding them on, trying to use this payment method, or that payment method. It was frankly quite embarrassing, because I couldnt figure out what I had to spend and where it was. (Plus I was dividing the payment methods between cash and card, which also makes it more hassle.) Michelle, my cashier was so helpful, patient, and sweet. I couldn't have asked for a better attendant to help me anywhere. I have certainly been through those situations before, although on the opposite side, working in the service industry, and it takes a certain type of person to be able to handle those moments with grace, ingenuity, and with empathy. This woman was all of those, and more. Most customers become extremely embarrassed and flustered when faced with moments of insecurity. MICHELLE was the reason I was able to not become overwhelmed and horrified in such a moment of instability. Thank you so much Michelle, you are an angel, and I appreciate the competence you displayed within your field and many times, the under appreciated empathetic and humanizing qualities you naturally displayed and offered me that day. You sincerely are one of the best! I hope that your strengths and leadership are recognized more often. You are a role model to those around you...co-workers and customers alike. Read moreOn July 11, 2016 I had bought a $25 Xbox card. Upon checking out the cashier kept the card & I said "don't I get to keep the card?" With her reply being "no, the information is printed on the receipt." To make a long story short, the pain # on the receipt didn't work. I had been in the store for the FOURTH time this week trying to get this resolved today being July 16, 2016. All I got was a snotty attitude from the girl who said "well to bad there's no one here to help you till Monday" i was told someone would call me, no one did all week. Read moreThis store seems reasonably stocked. However there are several isles where stuff seems piled together for no real reason than "it kind of goes together". But that's not surprising for DG. The cashier was the only person I ran into and she was very pleasant. The other customers were less so. I can't say that the process in goods was very good. The store seems unkept in general and while the staff is nice I'm not a big fan of Dollar General. One thing to keep in mind is that they will actually charge a premium on lots of items (especially name brand unless there's some kind of sell-out). You can actually pay MORE that local grocery stores for items. But this store itself is just okay. At least it's open later than Dollar Tree or Family...
