I use to like shopping here from time to time. Mostly for tools to see if I can save any money buying them here as opposed to the tool trucks that come by the shop. Today i rode my ebike there, looking at the price of 1/2" impact sockets and to buy my dog a new toy. When I ride my ebike, I usually bring a backpack to carry things home if I were to purchase anything, and after shopping around for about a half hour, was stopped by someone who claimed to be a manager. He seemed very irritated and told me I had to take my backpack to customer service while I shopped. I informed him that I was almost done and that there wasn't any sign at the door and none of the 6 or 7 employees at the door said anything to me about it. He said they didn't need a sign and proceeded to follow me, like a thief, as I finished my shopping. It was humiliating and not only will I never shop there again, I will encourage others to not give them their business. It was highly unprofessional and rude. I'm a veteran of the United States Navy. I work a full time job at an automotive shop, I have almost ten thousand dollars in tools at the shop, and I have my own house near downtown Conover. How disrespectful of the...
Read moreI went into the store intending to purchase a pair of binoculars, which were locked inside a display case in the gun department. There were no employees present in the area, so I located another employee and asked if someone could assist me.
The employee radioed for assistance, and I overheard someone on the other end respond, “Can they not read? I’m closed for lunch.” I then asked how long the wait might be, but no one could provide an answer. I requested that a manager be contacted, as I only needed binoculars—not a firearm—so the transaction would be quick.
When the manager responded, they were flat-out rude and dismissive, saying I would simply have to wait an unknown amount of time. I understand that stores can be short-staffed or busy, but a more professional response would have been something like: “They’re tied up at the moment, but someone will be with you as soon as they’re available.”
Customer service and professionalism still matter. Due to this experience, I’ll be taking my...
Read moreThe really nice cashier inside probably saved this one. I started off out in the garden section and instead of any help that I needed Ii got to hear a lady complain about how she had too much to do, and she never had help, and the company didn't respect her work, etc , etc , etc She also had her hoses twisted up and down two of the aisles of plants which meant you had to lift your cart over the hose two and three times just to get to the plants. She could have easily kept it to one side but she really could have cared less if there were customers or not. Checking out I had a very courteous cashier who was just friendly enough without being too much . Also, I had someone ask me if I needed anything while in the weed killer section and again when I was in the per supply section. So inside the store was great. Clean, sticked, friendly staff. Outside, the cranky lady who couldn't stop complaining long enough to help anyone pretty much ruined it for the...
