Fareway Meat and Grocery — Local services in Council Bluffs

I just walked out because I stood at the customer service counter waiting to be helped for a small purchase and the cashier RIGHT NEXT TO THE SERVICE COUNTER didn't greet me and watched me stand there. Up comes another customer to her register who asks if she can get cigarettes from where I was waiting and the cashier told her that she could get them for her. I then asked the cashier if I'm supposed to go into a line to ask someone to come help me at the counter and the same cashier said, " oh. I can get them for you after I help her". I was standing there BEFORE the other customer came up and was not acknowledeged at all! Is it because I'm brown?!?! Is it because I'm not a regular ? I have worked in customer service all my life and definitely notice when it lacks. Thanks for not taking care of me and ignoring me but helping every one else, now I will drive out of my way to get two small packs of cigs that I conveniently walked...

First of all, I LOVE Fareway!! The cleanliness, the set up, the meat counter, the employees!! I don't mind carying my own groceries if i have 1, 2, or even 3 bags of groceries, but I have noticed that when I have one of the young girls bagging my groceries in the afternoon/evening, they ask me "do you need help out with these?" I had 5 bags the other day and was asked that question!! Well, thats one of the many reasons I shop at Fareway, I don't have to drive my cart to the parking lot, load my car, then return my cart. First time in years I've been there. The customer service is without equal! The remodeling looks wonderful and the store is easy to navigate. Got my groceries for the week in less than 20mins (with 5 kids that is an amazing feat!). The cashier was kind and the checkout process is honestly probably the fastest I've seen even compared to Aldi's plus the team effort and bagging along with carry out without even asking!
