My boyfriend and I went in on a Sunday around 1:00 for a late Brunch. It looked like the rush had just cleared out as there were many dirty tables, which was no problem so we waited. After a few minute of waiting and seeing others walk in and seat themselves at dirty tables we decided to try to sit at the Bar. As we took our seats the Bartender snapped at us that it would be a minute before he could get to us, we said that was fine, as we waited we spotted what looked like a clean table and decided to move to it. As we sat the Bartender walked by and snapped again that the table wasn't clean and needed to be wiped. We again said that would be fine. The bartender made his way over about 5 minutes later (again which was fine) wiped our table and asked for our drink order. I asked if I could order an alcoholic drink, he said yes if I had an ID. I said ofcourse as I got my ID my boyfriend made a comment that we liked getting IDed bc it makes us feel young! The guy snapped at us so rudely saying "come on guys! just tell me what you want!" smacking his hands together as if we were holding him up 🤷♀️ we ordered our drinks and stared blankly at each other wondering what we did to deserve that. he brought our drinks over we ordered as quickly and shortly as we could as we didn't want to engage with him any more then needed. Our food came out, which was all great aside from my toast that wasn't toasted at all but I didn't want to complain since my boyfriend asked for ketchup and was told "what do you think I'm doing". We ate paid and left as quickly as we could to avoid speaking to this man any more. the topper of it all was he was wearing a shirt that said "I would like to apologize to anyone I have not yet offended Please be patient I will get to you shortly"... Sugars has always been a go to for us and my family but after this experience we definitely do NOT feel welcomed and are unsure if we...
Read moreBeen meaning to try this place for years. Finally got an opportunity on a hot afternoon while taking a work break from clearing storm debris. Had my little dog in my shoulder bag, stop I'm trying to be respectful as some people aren't animal lovers like myself and not knowing the ordering format I waited by the door hoping to be greeted and told in what method they accept Togo orders. Instantly got the vibe that since I didn't know the staff and how to place an order I was not welcome. Problem with a lot of bar/tavern food ordering or, just being accepted to have the to spend ones hard earned money, of you're not friends outside the bar then you're not welcome to come into their club. I watched the 2 employees that I presumed were waitstaff taking and looking over at me liked I was trespassing, gave them 5 minutes to ask me what I wanted, then left and walked 1/4 mile in the hot sun I was trying to get a break from Ames for a fresh got pork loin sandwich at Casey's where, having never been there before (gasp) I was greeted with a plethora of smiles and hello welcome to Casey's.
Would have given zero stars if was an option. They pork loin might not have been as tasty, bit gauranteed the digestion would be no comparison!
For a good pork tenderloin, Bertha's lounge, the gold mine lounge and of course,...
Read moreAfter seeing how this business owner handled a situation on Facebook, I am amazed at the lack of tact, class, and professionalism that this business owner could display. To smack a table and basically yell at kids is uncalled for. Then to engage and to respond to the negative review in such an unprofessional way is absolutely ridiculous, especially when you're in the service industry. I'm sure that any parent can understand that dining out with children is not the easiest of things. I've never met nor probably ever will see a business handle a situation worse. I mean most businesses/restaurants will go out of there way to ensure every customer has an enjoyable experience to include children. Maybe you should post a sign on the door that states that children are not allowed. If not then you should realize that this is part of the profession you chose to open a business in. Children singing there ABC's while sitting at their table would be the least of my worries. In today's day and age, negative reviews is what will make or break a business. I can guarantee that I will never eat in this establishment or recommend...
