The prices are usually more reasonable for the same products, or similar products. Normally I buy my eggs, coffee creamer, probiotic drink, yogurt, and other dairy products, maybe some frozen food or bread product, but I usually don't buy my produce or meats here. Keeping the cost factor in mind, if you would like to use a shopping cart, you need to insert a quarter and if you return it, you will get your quarter back, so no need for someone to collect the carriages. Also, you need to bag your own groceries. Most people will bring in reusable bags or grab an empty box, but bags are available to purchase at the register. This also should be taken into consideration when thinking about the cost factor, no baggers, and the cashier just rings up one's order. Should it get backed up, they are usually quick in calling someone to open another register. I have applied for work here, there is no such thing as being "a cashier". While only one register may be open, employees are accountable to stock shelves, unload product and perform other necessary chores in the store. The pay is better than a cashier's pay, but it seemed like they expect you to be available all hours when the store is open. I'm sorry, I'm old school... I have dinner with my family and I do not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love Aldi. Brand names are unimportant to me, and Aldi's private label groceries are of good quality, equivalent to name brands most of the time. Generally speaking, if it comes in a bag, box, bottle, jar or can we buy it at Aldi. We save probably hundreds of dollars a year, probably more buy getting as many groceries as we can at Aldi. The produce and meats are lacking, but that's okay, we just look for sales elsewhere. You won't find some specialty items here, but again, that's okay. Just happy to get all our staples here. Next time you go grocery shopping, try Aldi first and get as much as you can there. Your wallet will thank you. And if you don't like it, their return/exchange policy is fantastic. They take credit cards now too, not just debit.
And for the uninitiated, bring a quarter with you for the shopping cart, and bring...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeen shopping at aldi since 1996-7 when I lived in MO. I absolutely love it. If you've never been &know nothing about it know this: bring a quarter w/you if you need a carriage. You get it back when You are done &put the carriage back. If you don't use your own reusable shopping bags you'll have to purchase them here. Brown paper bags are 6cents ea &plastic (reusable quality) are 10cents ea. You will also have to bag your own groceries. Aldi is owned by a pair of german brothers who also own trader Joe's! Part of the reason aldi is so inexpensive is due to the carriage rental (no need to hire a parking lot attendant), the bag purchasing, no advertising, every employee stocks shelves (no need for a stock person)& the customer enjoys deep savings&employees get paid a starting wage above min. wage! Highly recommend...
