I can’t recommend this experience enough! My sister and I felt very at home and not once felt out of place. Terry and her team are very welcoming and super knowledgeable on the history of Gettysburg and the horses. You can tell the staff cares and loves all the horses that they work with. They knew all of their quirks and past history. All these horses are rescued and it is so amazing to have the opportunity to contribute to this organization and ride a horse who has been built up by this amazing caring team. I had the pleasure of riding Gus who is an ex Amish work horse and the gentlest giant. Terry is truly so kind, accommodating, and very educated about the history of the battlefield and her horses. Her story telling was great and I could picture everything happening as Terry was explaining it to us. Terry also gave us the confidence to mount and ride our horses through the trails and how to properly handle them. The views were amazing and we had a great view of the blue ridge mountains in sight. We also had the pleasure of a nice breeze brushing through the peaceful battlefields as we rode the very tidy and well kept trails. If I could do this everyday I would and I’m so thankful to Terry and her team for giving my sister and I this experience to always look back on and remember. If you’re looking for something to do in Gettysburg don’t miss out on this horse tour, not only will you have a great experience but you’d be supporting a fantastic team and all that they work so hard for. Thank you for having us Terry and we will...
Read moreVery disappointing experience. We arrived 20 minutes before the start time of 0800 to be told they had already begun orientation and would not restart for us. The operator was very rude and did not take the time to rebook. After several calls to voice-mail, I returned in person to see if we could figure out a time while we were still in town and again rudely told no way. Never actually returned my call. Not a very helpful or accommodating business. They have also refused to refund any of the money, so effectively took $200 without offering anything in return.
I understand the operator believes it is appropriate to make demands in email 3 months before the scheduled service. Interesting business model. I booked a 0800 ride online 3 months in advance and paid in advance. While booking there is no mention of needed to arrive at 0730. We arrived at ~0740. Helpful suggestion would be to show the actual start time during the booking process instead of changing it later in email. in fact, you may want to change you on-line presences to say you are open at 0730 instead of 0800 as currently stated. Make people think you are not open at 0730.
At a minimum you should refund my advance payment instead of keeping it and assuming I have the time to come back to Gettysburg for a 2 hour horse ride. So no, I don't want to give you some future dates but would like my money returned. You would not need to not provide refunds if you provided a reasonable service. You could not even say HI the two...
Read moreWhat an amazing time! The ride itself so so beautiful and our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the battle at Gettysburg. It was a very personal tour. Most tours give you headsets and try to tell you about the battle while riding and shouting directions at the horses while you are trying to hear the guide. Not this tour! They have it down to a science. You ride leisurely through the trails and you stop at specific locations where the guide will then give you some history and tell about the battle, no head phones. They talk to you directly. It is nice because you can ride without being distracted and when you stop at the sites you can really focus on the story of the battle. Aside from being knowledgeable, the guide and staff were so friendly and accommodating. I felt like family immediately. And the horses are so sweet, loving and well behaved. This is the horse guided tour to take if you go to Gettysburg or even if you just want to go for a nice trail ride you must book with them. It is an amazing experience. And best of all it is for a great cause. They rescue abused and neglected horses and nurse them back to health and give them a good home. So the proceeds from the tour goes right back into the rescue funds. Explore Gettysburg while saving a horse. I give this tour 10 stars! Love...
