Kayla's Nail Care — Local services in Cupertino

This is possibly my first review ever, but given the nightmare of an experience I had. I owe it to myself to write a review.

I had heard great things about Kayla's nails so decided to try it for the first time. Unfortunately I had the worst possible experience. Here are the major points:

For starters the place is crammed and crowded.

I booked a manicure and pedicure in advance but despite some therapist sitting idle, the two treatments were not done simultaneously.

The therapist did not speak any English.

The therapist used a rotory grinder and decided to grind the top surface of all my nails. Which I have never experienced before. My usually thick, strong and healthy nails are now thin, brittle and lustureless.

My nails have an unusual pain in my nails and one of my nail beds has a blood clot below the surface so I am asauming my nail beds were damaged in some way.

Seriously how bad can one simple Manicure/Pedicure get?! I am amazed! So ladies not sure about you but I'm avoiding this place...

Long time customer of Kayla's Nail Care, over 10 years! Katie is super friendly, very easy to chat with and is the queen of detail. My feet, especially my big toes love her as she takes such great care of the extra skin / cuticle that grows around the sides. Yenny is my favorite for a gel manicure. The amazing work she does lasts over 3 weeks without chipping or peeling. I've NEVER had gel manicure do that! My hands are often dry because I cook a lot and often times do dishes without gloves so the nails and my hands take a beating. After Yenny's treatment, my hands are soft and moisturized. This was my first and last time coming to this place. Ana did my nails and she did a fair job but the customer service is very bad in this salon! Nobody greeted me and it looked like they were sitting in break room playing cards! I asked where are the nail polish colors and the lady with very short hair just yelled from the break room that’s it’s in the front. She didn’t even care to walk over and show me. During my manicure, all the technicians were talking very loudly in Vietnamese with no regard to customers. This was the worst I’ve ever seen it where they talk across the salon to each other looking at customers and talking! So rude!!! NOT...
