Howard's Furniture — Local services in Dallas

I drive past Howard's everyday to and from work. I believe in supporting black owned business, that is the only reason that I came to Howard's. I came in 3 separate occasions to look at a bunk bed that my company was donating. As any consumer would I tried to haggle the price to no avail. Eventually I purchased the bunk beds and mattresses on a Thursday afternoon. I was told by the sales associate that the beds would be in Friday. Saturday morning I came into the store to pick up the bed and I was informed that it had not arrived yet. Never did the sales associate call or email me to let me know that it had not arrived. He said that it would be in the store in a couple of hours. Since I had come with someone with a truck I was a put out to not be able to get my merchandise. I asked the sales associate could they have it delivered because I would not have access to the truck in the 2 additional hours that it was going to take the bed to arrive. The associate said that an outside company delivered and that they couldn't wave the cost. So I asked him to pay the expense of the delivery because they inconvenienced me. He said I could call the manager which was his father. I asked the same question and he was not willing to cover the expense of delivery. He apologized that his son gave the wrong information and didn't bother to contact me to let me know that my merchandise wasn't there right before hanging up in my face. I will NEVER support this business again. Piss poor customer service and conflict...

I came to the store with the intentions to support a black owned business. I purchased 3 mattresses. Due to heavy rain one of the mattresses I purchased had gotten wet. I didn’t realize it until I got them home and there was a musty smell to it. I returned to the store letting them know my situation and with no hesitation they were willing to resolve the issue.
