5 STAR GRILL — Restaurant in Dallas

I am staying with a friend here on the South Side while repairs are being done to my home and I googled a restaurant near me and another restaurant came up saying South Dallas Grill, apparently that restaurant is gone and this one has taken it's place unbeknownst to me so I was surprised when I saw the prices because this previous spot reviews were for affordable food. The price point at this spot was steep for the area, but I was thinking we are experiencing inflation and everything is going up but I was a little disappointed in the portion sizes for the price. The food wasn't bad at all but even as someone who has a decent income in these times I have to get value for my hard earned money. The space itself was very nice and would rival any nice lounge in the City but sadly I don't see this being a long term operation as the surrounding community would be priced out and others who have the income to support this establishment would not because of the location. The inside of this place is great for hanging out. The dj was great also.

Now let's talk about the food...I ordered a seafood philly and sadly to say it was NOT good at all. It tasted like the seafood was old and it had a fishy smell. I chewed on a piece of a GRISSEL, YES GRISSEL like from a chicken bone!!!... So stick to the regular philly I guess...

The bread is too weak for that type of sandwich which had shrimp, lobster and crab meat. One of those alone would be too much for that bread.

The kool-aid tastes like Tylenol PM 🤣 🤣 Let that sink in. Tylenol PM! I felt like they were trying to put me to sleep. It had this weird after taste that does not mix well with the seasonings used on the fries. The fries were the best part of my meal. If you can't make fries, I know your food ain't good.

Now this was my 1st time visiting so idk how the rest of their food is. I actually hope...

Today was my first time eating here. Upon entrance it's amazing ambiance. There's a lot of space to sit and eat. They have a VIP room also. The man that took my order was nice and patient. It took a little long to get my order I had a special request. He bought my food to my table. The music in there is the bomb! The place is immaculately clean! The food was good ,fresh and hot . Only down side the fries were extremely salty. Overall a great place to eat at. I will definitely be visiting again. They also have an 30's plus for those that wants to relax and chill after hours. They have a hookah lounge, comedy club and other things for those that's on the grown and sexy tip.
