5 Stars for Millie in Monarch Beach – Fashion Fairies in Action!
I have a wedding to attend this weekend, and let me tell you, my closet is basically a museum of uninspired fashion disasters. Then, as if by magic, I strolled past Millie’s store window this morning and spotted the dress! Not just any dress, but the dress that screamed, “I’ve got this wedding in the bag!”
I popped in as soon as they opened, and it felt like shopping with your besties who just happen to be fashion experts. I was ready to try on a bunch of dresses, but guess what? The one I’d seen in the window was just as perfect in person—seriously, it looked uh-mazing.
There was just one tiny hiccup: the plunging neckline needed a little extra security. I didn’t want a repeat of Janet Jackson’s Super Bowl moment, thank you very much. Enter Shannon, the real MVP. She offered to escort me two doors down to the seamstress and see if she could work her magic and install a snap on the dress—today.

The salesperson conveniently did not mention their store policy, which is to refuse refunds and only issue store credit. So, when I came back next day to tell the store owner that the newly purchased garments did not fit my wife (needed a size 0, instead of a 2), and that I requested a refund, she said they do not refund purchases. What am I to do if they do not have my wife's size, and that there's nothing else in the store that interests her?
Now, I'm a business owner myself. If you have to resort to a no refund policy, it's that your gross sales aren't that great to begin with - it's akin to holding your customer's money hostage...poor business practice and very unfair to the customer.
So, I will be disputing the charge, and also warning our friends about this shady and deceptive business practice. Any business who pays more attention to their bottom line than customer satisfaction is, in my opinion, not worthy of being in business...
