Read moreJust visited at 11am on a Tuesday(9/26) to walk around the pumpkin patch with my daughter and see the Halloween decorations, however we were not allowed in to do that. She is Autistic and isn’t really interested in the activities. We planned to do the hay ride later in the season. In past years you could walk around the pumpkin patch without paying unless you wanted to paint a pumpkin or do another activity. This year they are charging $15-20 to choose 2-3 activities or limited food items. Walking around the pumpkin patch is not listed as an admission item and it does not state payment is required to do so on the website or admission flyer. Essentially we would be charged $30 for just the two of us just to walk around for a bit and were turned away after a 25 minute drive when we asked to just see the pumpkin patch. The area is small and will get crowded and overwhelming fast for some during the season. We almost always purchase something when we come but the items in the admission cost are limited and do not work for us so unfortunately this is no longer a location we can visit for Fall activities.
Edit after business reply: The admission cost is clearly stated, but as I mentioned in my review, simply walking through the pumpkin patch is not mentioned as one of the pick 2/3 items and was free in the past so the change was unexpected and disappointing. Admission actually only includes two activities or food items(extremely limited) for $15 or 3 for $20 per person. The festival is in a different spot this year and you can no longer walk through the pumpkin patch. While you are a small family owned business, we are a small family with a special needs child and limited resources because of it. We have spent plenty of money at your business over the years and are voicing our concerns that there are no longer ANY free fall options offered. We spend money on food and drink items that are not part of the limited pick 2/3 admission so we would be paying $30 to walk around the pumpkin patch plus additional money to buy the food we prefer. My review is for families with similar struggles to get an idea of what to expect. I have visited the rest of the nursery numerous times, today we drove there specifically for the pumpkin patch and were disappointed in the changes and that we have to mark this off our list of fun and affordable...
Read moreI was in search of milk weed to plant in my butterfly garden. After two fruitless searches I finally turned to Flamingo Road Nursery. I don't know why I ever bothered to go anywhere else. As soon as you arrive you know you have arrived at THE place to get all of your gardening needs. All through the garden are helpful people in purple shirts who love to answer questions. They directed to me to the right section and it tums out the have an entire section of butterfly plants. I was so pleased with the selection that I ended up grabbing some butterfly loving Pentas and Lantana too. They had milkweed in two colors. I've only had the yellow before but apparently it comes in red too. After I made my selections I wandered the gardens a bit and was completely wowed.
In addition to the lovely plants they have every kind of fountain you can think of. They are sprinkled throughout the garden and are absolutely beautiful. There are also wind chimes, beautiful pottery, Florida dancing bird lawn decorations, statues of every size and description, bonsai, wind chimes, benches, birdbaths, along with countless other items.
Not only can you purchase the perfect item for your garden but you can eat here too. There is a barbecue restaurant open on the weekends and a farmers market with baked goods and organic items,
The garden has many beautiful photo ops set up for people to take pictures. There is a cute little house, flamingos, and over size Adirondack chairs along with the benches and fountains for the perfect picture spots. They even have Herbie the Love Bug.
Every fall they host a harvest fest with a lot of activities for kids like hay rides and pumpkin painting. The frozen apple cider is a personal favorite. They go all out with the Halloween and fall decorations too.
If you need anything for your outdoor space this is the place to go. Bring the whole family and spend the day eating, shopping, dreaming, and planning. I have some ideas brewing now and I can't wait for my...
