2nd UPDATE: Do you want to be a holiday hero? Tell the family you will be responsible for the meats at your holiday gathering and order from here. I ordered a smoked ham and a smoked turkey breast. Instead of slaving all day in kitchen I followed the included instructions [the meat is cooked....you are just heating it up]. Made the ham the day before. It was delicious as usual. The turkey was the star of the show. Every single person at our Thansgiving table commented on the flavor and the MOISTNESS of said bird. Be a hero. Eat her products.
Just ordered from here. You gotta love an owner that puts her cell phone out there to encourage a call. Trying to shelter in place here in North Carolina and grocery stores aren't appealing these days. Called number on email and got voicemail. Texted and got an immediate response. Lea answered all my questions via text and I asked if I could call and place order. "No problem" she said. She answered all my questions and had some great suggestions and even offered to make me something they were out of stock of. Customer service is a lost art in this country but not here. I will post pics when product arrives. Thanks Lea.
PS- she said usually they ship in 2 days. CHECK OUT HER BACON FLAVORS
Update.....First sampling: Had the cranberry honey bacon and it was fantastic. Lea said adding fruit to her bacons made them lighter. I was skeptical and I was WRONG. It was lighter! And it was good. Everything from the customer service to the ease of ordering to the delivery [fantastically packed] to the taste. I'm impressed!
Another update: Ordered one of Lea's smoked hams for Easter. Did not prepare it until after Easter. I was having some issues and called her on a weekend and she actually answered and talked me through it. Her new packaging is fantastic and this ham was the cleanest tasting ham I have ever had. I've never had ham that tasted like this (I can only assume it is the smoking). The glaze she sends with it was incredibly tasty. I can't speak more highly of a company, the products and especially the owner. ORDER FROM THIS LADY. SHE...
Read moreThis review is based on an email request for a review by POTM BBQ. My most recent order, placed last month, was below an unstated $50 minimum for perishables. I placed this order, which was accepted and confirmed by their website, because I received a text for "free shipping on any order of your choosing". The offer expired that evening. I placed my order that day, a Saturday, and as mentioned was accepted and confirmed by POTM BBQ. My order was cancelled Monday morning via email indicating it was done at my request. It was not by my request. A subsequent email indicated it did not meet their minimum requirement for an order of perishable items. I initiated an email exchange in an attempt to reactivate the initial offer I received. In a final email exchange with the head of the company, I indicated that I was disappointed by the automatic cancellation and not being able to place an order that did meet their minimum requirement with free shipping to be received by the same day as my original order. The head of the company stated that the 3-4 orders a month they get that did not meet this $50 (unstated) requirement and had to be cancelled was not something they "stressed" about, but that they would put in place my suggestion that they offer the customer the opportunity to increase their order before cancelling them. I would have increased my order if I'd had the opportunity. The head of the company then mentioned several personal issues she'd been dealing with and attempted to shame me for asking them to honor their original free shipping offer with an order that would meet their minimum dollar amount. Again, a minimum dollar amount that they do not make known on their website. They accepted my order and payment even though it did not meet their minimum. Hopefully they will add this requirement to their website and not create false expectations by accepting and confirming your orders. That last email from Lea leaves a bad taste...
Read moreIf you live in a BBQ desert and you have a craving, let me tell you, that's where Pig of the Month steps in, turning your home into a ribfest with each delivery.
Their Texas and Memphis style baby back ribs are absolute game-changers. The Texas ribs come with a smokey, bold flavor that's just the right amount of savory, while the Memphis ribs offer a delightful balance of sweet and tangy that you can't help but love. Both are cooked to perfection, arriving at your door fully smoked and ready to be heated, saving you hours of labor over the grill.
But it's not just about the ribs. Pig of the Month has an array of BBQ delights that will make you feel like you've hit the jackpot. Their pulled pork is tender and juicy, seasoned just right to complement any BBQ sauce you choose. The BBQ brisket? Out of this world, with a caramelized crust that adds an extra layer of flavor. Don't even get me started on their bacon varieties - from applewood smoked to sweet apple pie bacon, each one is a flavor explosion.
And let's talk about their sauces. The Tangy Memphis BBQ Sauce is a must-have, enhancing not just ribs but everything from chicken to pizza. The Sweet & Smokey Texas BBQ Sauce? It's like a flavor hug for your palate. They've also got some unique offerings like Unicorn Blood Blueberry BBQ Sauce, which is as fun as it sounds.
The convenience of having all these BBQ goodies delivered in a box, with all meats gluten-free and thoughtfully packed, is what makes Pig of the Month more than just a seller; they're your BBQ experience providers. It is super easy to enjoy that ribfest vibe without stepping out of your apartment.
I live in NYC, where BBQ joints often fall short, so Pig of the Month is a beacon of hope for those of us who love our 'cue. I can't recommend them enough - especially if you want to impress at your next gathering or just treat yourself to some top-notch BBQ. Thank you, Pig of the Month, for bringing the smokehouse to...
