I'm a gaming enthusiast. I enjoy playing a variety of games, I enjoy going to gaming conventions. Heck, I run a gaming club. I'm a gamer.

I tell you this so you'll believe me when I say this - Board Knight is second to none.

They have a pretty nice selection of in-stock board games (and they can special order for you anything that they don't stock). Their prices are very reasonable - about what you would pay from the discount online retailers - and hey, you're supporting a local store. They're heavily into the Magic: The Gathering scene. They have a ton of cards (packs and individuals) and accessories like sleeves and deck boxes. They have a nice assortment of role playing game items. And they've also started carrying comics!

They also do a great job of holding events. The back part of their store is tables, and they're always doing something - either a MtG event, tourney, etc, or board gaming, or Warhammer events, or hosting RPGs. There's usually a lively crowd!

Owners Kevin and Krystle are amazing. They're friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and fun. If you don't know what you want (maybe you're buying a gift), they'll work with you to find something great.

There is ample parking in front and behind the store. They also sell snacks and drinks if you decide to try out one of the many games from their demo shelf.

Great place! I go to a lot of the full-line game stores in Illinois and this is one of the best. They have a smaller inventory than some, but will order what you need. The important thing is that they are always friendly, and willing to help, especially if you're like me and are indecisive on what to get. Krystle has helped me pick out probably 3 or 4 board games and all of them were great! They have a shelf full of board games for playing, in case you're on the fence about one, although not all of the board games they sell have another copy that you can play. Also, Tom has been very helpful in teaching me how to play Magic : The Gathering, and there's almost always other people...

Board Knight is the Gaming Store Decatur has been waiting for... and the gaming store it deserves. Everyone goes out of their way to make it feel like a second home filled with surrogate family. Like any family, we could use a bit more space, but once you visit you'll be hard pressed to hold it against them. Come on down and prepare to stay...
