The nurses on my floor were PHENOMENAL. This in no way reflects the care from my nurses. However Dr Najjar ruined my whole experience. I was a n the hospital for 12 days with a very severe and dense pneumonia. I had doctors from all directions trying to help because the pneumonia wasn’t affected by any of the antibiotics. Every doctor I spoke with said that my pulmonologist needed to do a bronchialopsy. I seen Dr Najjar when I was first admitted and he promised he would everything he could for me. Day after day I went seeing all the other doctors but no Dr Najjar, only his nurse who simply wrote notes and shook her head. It got so concerning to my regular doctor that he called Dr Najjar to request that he do the bronchialopsy. Now at this point I ben been in the hospital 10 days and only seen Dr Najjar ONCE. So later that day he finally comes to my room. I could tell he had a chip on his shoulder as soon as he walked in. First thing he says to me is “How are we feeling Mr Parker” I respond with not good at all! He says “that’s good” which tells me immediately he’s not listening. Then looks me in my eye and said “You’re not getting the bronch, so let’s get that straight first” Oh my God, I thought Inwas gonna fallout right there. Of course my reply was “why not?” This test can help me or at least figure out what’s going on. He then says “Because I’m the doctor and I said you don’t need it, if you don’t like it I can sign off your case” Of course this enrages me, yes I spoke loudly simply wanting to know why! I haven’t seen you but once in the past 10 days and this test could help me!!!! He looks at me and says “I’ll just call security” I’m like what?!?!? I’m in a hospital bed with severe pneumonia and you’re gonna threaten me????? I screamed GET OUT OF MY ROOM, and never saw him again. Dr Boyles took my case over that afternoon and the bronch was done the next day. 2 days later I’m home and feeling a lot better. Without him I would still be there. Amazing how that works huh? This review is not solely against the hospital and certainly does not reflect the care I was given by my nurses or other doctors. But Dr Najjar is a joke! If you are assigned him for any reason ask for another doctor, it’s not worth it. He cost me days in the hospital that I personally think could’ve...
Read moreThe doctors are good, and the hospital is okay, but the parking is ridiculous, one time I had to park over by the emergency room and walk all the way around to the front of the hospital where my wife is waiting for surgery, Decatur should be ashamed of themselves. I'm handicapped and that was really hard on me. All the handicap spots were taken and the ones that weren't were blocked off? I was told to park in the garage next time, so today I went to where I was told. My wife needed an MRI on her head for her cancer, she stage 4 ovarian cancer and cancer of the peritoneal, when we got there for the MRI like we were told, we were told we were in the wrong place and had to go on the other side of town To get to the other appointment for her MRI. We couldn't get out of the parking lot because the machine wouldn't take our money or our card for credit, we called somebody nobody answered. It took us over 15 minutes to get out of the parking lot and finally somebody used their employee pass to get us out. But we missed the MRI appointment which was extremely important to us. Decatur you should be ashamed of yourselves for what you do to people to park and especially what you do to handicap people that go to your hospital that need treatment, it was very frustrating. My poor wife who's already suffering enough was in tears. You need to take out your thing that makes people pay to park to come to your hospital unless you can get it to work, we were told today that wasn't unusual. It happens all the time in that parking lot, whoever runs the parking lot One-star rating at least you need to be fired and somebody put into the job that knows how to do it. Sorry for my anger but it was a very unpleasant experience for us, especially when we're fighting for my wife's life right now. I hope the guy in charge with the parking lot has a good night with his family and dinner and a good sleep because we won't. We had to reschedule the appointment, parking needs to be changed for that hospital....
Read moreThis was my first time going to Decatur Morgan for my mammogram and ultrasound. I was there approximately 2 hours. Other patients were coming in after me and being called back while I sat there and waited for my turn. After about 40 to 50 minutes I went back up to the front to see why I hadn't been called back. The lady that was supposed to get me registered said she was just about to call me back to get registered. And by the way I had already registered and paid online. So I'm thinking why didn't you register me when I came in because everybody else that came in after me had already been called back to have the procedure and has left.. Anyway then there was another 15-20 minute wait because other people were registered in front of me now. When I finally was called back there the woman that did my mammogram was so rough with me. I understand that there's pressure applied in order to get it done because I've had mammograms before but not at Decatur Morgan hospital. This is the next day now and I am so sore, my breast hurt really bad and that has never happened to me. Okay so after that mammogram was done I had to go back and sit in the waiting room to wait for my ultrasound. That was another 15 to 25 minute wait. The young lady that did the ultrasound was very nice but after the ultrasound I was told to go back and wait for the results. I sat in the waiting area another 20 maybe 30 minutes was never told whether to go home or anything so I decided to get...
