7 Brew Coffee — Restaurant in Decatur

My wife and I have been to numerous 7 brew locations in AL and TN, and generally enjoy the drinks, and usually don’t have a complaint about service, at least not enough to write a review. This Decatur location though really left us speechless.

Drinks were fine but the young boy taking our order may have been the most ridiculous service worker we’ve ever encountered. He approached my car (a jeep) and immediately got up on the kick-board and leaned into the open window, even though it was unnecessary to do so, the jeep isn’t lifted. Then he couldn’t get anything we said correct, kept repeating back to us the wrong sizes and ingredients such that it felt like a prank, but no, he couldn’t get it right. For example I asked for pomegranate in my smoothie and he said “pumpkin?” I repeated it and he said “peach?” I repeated and he said “momogranite?” (Hah wut), and I was laughing as my wife tried to suppress her anger and finally he asked “does what you’re saying start with P?” I just took his tablet and did it myself.

Ill mention here that I grew up in north AL, and don’t really have much accent at all, this kid was either dumb or playing a game.

Finally, while waiting on drinks the kid wouldn’t shut up about how he didn’t want to be there anymore, just wanted to go home, hated night shift, and wanted to see his friends; we couldn’t get out of there fast enough.

I also got the impression his coworkers wished to be away from him as well.

Anyway, this kid will likely quit or be fired soon, so the location may be worth visiting...

Went today on 11/4, incredibly long lines which normally is fine we will wait for 7 brew however I ordered two drinks and I tipped. Sat for over 10 minutes waiting for my drinks with multiple workers coming up asking what drinks we ordered, this was asked at least 4 times by 3 different employees. In the end we left with what we thought were our drinks however they were not. My husband ordered a blended sweet and salty with oat milk and it was not made with oat milk. We also ordered a sugar free energy and I’m not sure what I was given. I order this drink almost daily, Beltline makes it just fine. Not sure how you can mess up vanilla strawberry and cream, but this crew did. I do love 7 brew but this crew that was working this morning was horrible and I will not be returning to 6th ave 7 brew....

The coffee is always amazing, but so are the employees! I’ve always been complimented in some fashion or had a fulfilling conversation every time i’ve been. I always leave in a better mood than when I arrived. I think the menu is a great starting point for a food service business, but the employees and management are what makes or breaks it. 7 Brew in Decatur is by far the best customer service I’ve EVER experienced, and I used to work at disney world. Every single person there is focused on building rapport and being personable. It’s always so refreshing and comforting to have a nice cup of coffee and friendly faces. :) Keep up...
