Review of Kids Clubhouse ā Serious Safety Concern
I want to bring attention to a deeply concerning incident that happened today at Kids Clubhouse while my wife, our two young daughters (both under two years old), and I were playing. My wife and I were actively supervising one child each, as our older daughter is very energetic and requires constant attention. Despite our efforts, she briefly got out of sight, and we later discovered that she had somehow entered the plastic ball pool, which is typically restricted for younger children.
What happened next was extremely distressing. My daughter, who is only two and a half years old, got stuck in the ball pool and had a full-blown panic attack. She was unable to get up or get out on her own. Shockingly, the staff member who was assigned to supervise the area just sat there and stared at her while she was struggling and clearly in distress. He did absolutely nothing to assist her.
When I finally found her, she was experiencing the worst trauma of her life, terrified and unable to calm down. Seeing an adult, whose job is to supervise and ensure the safety of children, just watching her struggle without offering any help was beyond infuriating. When I confronted the staff member, his response was even more shockingāhe claimed that he couldnāt touch or help her without parental consent.
Where is the common sense in this policy? If a child is clearly in distress and unable to help themselves, a responsible adult should step in immediately. No child should have to endure such a terrifying experience simply because of a lack of intervention from an employee who is supposed to be there for their safety. Watching a child panic without taking action is not supervisionāit is negligence.
I raised the issue with the manager, but unfortunately, the response was dismissive, as if this was not a big deal. But it was a big dealāto my daughter, to my wife and me, and to any parent who expects a safe environment for their children. My daughter is still shaken by the experience, and I donāt know how long it will take for her to recover from the fear and trauma she endured today.
Additionally, I donāt understand how my daughter was allowed into the ball pool in the first place when there was supposed to be a gatekeeper preventing younger kids from entering. Clearly, there was a failure in enforcing basic safety rules.
Kids Clubhouse needs to take a hard look at their policies, their training, and their hiring standards. Employees working with children need to have at least basic emotional intelligence and an understanding of when to intervene. If a child is in distress, standing there and watching them suffer is not acceptable.
I sincerely hope the management takes this incident seriously and implements changes to ensure no other child has to go through such a terrifying experience. Parents should feel confident that their children are in a safe environmentānot just being watched, but...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo this review will be somewhat of a comparison to the wonderland playground on Beechmont ave, because itās a similar concept and itās where our family normally goes.
The pros to the kids club house compared to wonderland is they did have a bigger food selection in the cafe, and more coffee selections for parents. I did however think the pizza was disgusting (picture of pizza posted below) The manager did offer a refund which was greatly appreciated. They also have crepes, smoothies, ice cream and more, but we didnāt try any while we were there. I also liked that you donāt have to reserve play time at kids clubhouse, and itās a bit cheaper than going to wonderland. Another pro of kids club house that wonderland does not do, is you and your kids get number matching wrist bands so no one else can leave with your child, which really gave me peace of mind if I couldnāt always see my 6 year old.
However, the reason that wonderland does reservations is to avoid overcrowding, and to clean more often. I definitely saw that reflected when we were at kids clubhouse, it was much more crowded and loud, and there were lines to be able to go through the Ninja course for my 6 year old. I also felt like the cleanliness of kids clubhouse was sub-par. I did see several workers walking around pretty often wiping things down, however, they seemed pretty lax on people wearing shoes. Most of the kids did not have shoes on, but a big problem was parents wearing shoes into the play areas. I have a one year-old, who crawls around and puts her mouth on everything, and I kept seeing parents walk around the one year-old area with shoes on. Wonderland playground was much more strict on shoes. As soon as you walked in the door everyone was required to leave their shoes off, so even walking around the cafƩ area was much cleaner than it was at kids clubhouse.
It Also reflected in the bathrooms at kids clubhouse, they couldāve been a little bit cleaner, they smelled pretty bad, but it was nothing too disgusting or unbearable .
I did like the cafĆ© and little kids shop better at kids clubhouse than I did at Wonderland. Thereās definitely more options.
Iād give kids clubhouse 3-3.5 stars on cleanliness 5 stars on customer service and kindness from staff 4 stars on the play areas themselves. The only reason I wouldnāt give 5 is the play area for the 3 year olds and under was really lacking compared to wonderland, whose little kids play area was much better in my opinion.
Overall I like most of the play areas at both places, my kids definitely had a blast. I would only personally recommend going to wonderland playground if you prefer somewhere a little cleaner and less crowded. But overall Iād still give kids clubhouse 4 stars for the amount of fun my 6 year old had, and the welcomeness...
Ā Ā Ā Read more3/06/2025 Today was my first time here & I took two children with me ages 2 & 3, thereās a variety of different things to do for all ages. Admission is a fair rate and I like how you can leave then come back. I love their wristband policy to ensure childhood safety with adult ownership. Allie was extremely helpful & patient the minute we walked in. She is a very friendly and super sweet person. She made the check in process easy and fast. I like that they give stickers to their guests too. A little fun way to give back to the community and put a smile on a kids face.
Now I know this comment I am about to make is out of this businesses control, but I do want to inform people who do bring there kids here to teach them about their surroundings, watch your child, and if they have any sickness or a runny nose then stay home or properly wipe your childās nose. I had to help more than 5 children because their parents werenāt around, kids bawling their eyes out, then adults would stand below the slide with their child and not move out of the way and block others from coming down, then you deal with other kids who will knock over another kid in a matter of seconds because the lacking of manners being taught. You really do have to be aware of other kids and other parents not watching their kids, so I do highly encourage parents to play and interrupt with your kids here because if not youāre asking for a problem. I understand germs are everywhere, but it really did gross me out seeing how unsanitary things were, and boogers being wiped on things. Parents need to do better, attend your kids & watch over them, and not just come here to be on your phone and to socialize with others. Also I appreciate the awareness of sickness being stated in the waiver. Come at your own risk! I will be back, but hope to come during a less busier time frame and not before 11am. I would recommend hand sanitizer stations, wipes, or tissues in spots to maybe help prevent what I stated above. & maybe the employees can shut down certain areas at a time and wipe down things in between time frames then reopen those areas...
