After reading all the bad reviews I was a bit sceptical but I still bought tickets because I have watched tons of documentaries about King Tut and wanted to see it for myself. First things first, there were a lot of people who were disappointed that there werenʻt any real artifacts. But I thought to myself, “of course not” they are the property of the egyptian people and if they did have real artifacts then they would have to hire major security just to protect those artifacts and the exhibit/experience would probably cost more. So, I bought tickets and went. To my amazement I fully enjoyed the experience. No need for any real artifacts. The walk thru was a well put together story line and not too overwhelming to read! My favorite part was the extra VR experience that takes you into King Tuts burial chamber. It was totally worth the extra $$$. All in all, we fully enjoyed the exhibit and will totally recommend this to my family & friends.

Pictures are great, but I wanted to learn something new about King Tut. They could have told more of a story about him. Sadly this was all about the excavation, well sort of. They tell you the digged for a long while, almost went broke and found some things. That’s about all I got out of it. The gift shop is a clear and present money grab. After spending $80 for two VIP tickets I didn’t have another $30 or so to buy a miniature statue. The best part of the experience was those that were working it. They were fabulous and probably underpaid.

We reserved our tickets for just as they opened at 10am on a Wednesday. Very few people which was really nice! The gentleman who did the instruction was fun and told us to read on the way to the immersive part because it helps build on the experience. It dida Once we got to the large room, it was quite impressive. The animation had such color and continued the story of the journey of King Tut into the afterlife. Then it morphed into a telling of Egypt today. I had a great time!

King Tut Lite - we visited the immersive experience and found it Lite on details. First, the actual cost for seniors was reasonable but an additional processing fee and the parking fee at the fairgrounds to park in mud added another $27 to the cost for two. We wanted to learn more about the excavations leading up to finding the tomb in 1922 and the actual discoveries. There was a lot about Pharaoh’s afterlife which was interesting but promoted in a cartoonish way. The HD photos were good but again tying the story together with more details would have made this great. Finally a $20pp charge for 6 minutes of virtual reality was excessive and we passed on that. Overall a missed chance for a truly great...

We went to Del Mar Fairgrounds King Tut today. 2 adults + 2 seniors and 1 child (free of charge). I paid $178 for four of us (which included the $25 service fee online). The exhibit was good, but it did not represent the cost. It should have cost at the very most $20pp. I feel like I was robbed and it makes me sick. Also, on the website (Nat Geo King Tut) it says you can only buy tickets online and that was clearly not true when we showed up. I could have saved an additional $25 (online service fee). I am very disappointed. I do not recommend this experience unless the cost goes now and it...
