13th floor is split into 3 separate houses that take about 15 minutes a piece to complete. Not only is this not nearly enough time for proper immersion, we also got stuck in multiple traffic jams inside the houses themselves. Ive never been to a haunted attraction so poorly spaced out. We also had times for when it first opened, so I can't even imagine how bad the traffic jams inside the houses are during peak hours. The houses were so full of props and barely any actors that it felt cheap and poorly done. If this were the only issue, Id honestly have given this haunt a higher rating, however, after going through the houses, we saw there was more on premises and asked someone where we could buy tickets to the bars and escape rooms. We were told only online. We went online and read through the various offerings and decided to purchase the bar combo pack as the secret bars sounded interesting and fun to us. This is the most important part: nowhere, not line, not in person, nowhere did it say that we should purchase the bar combo pack and go to the only visible bar by the entrance to receive specific glow stick bands BEFORE entering the houses. Because turns out the secret bars are inside the houses. We had no way of knowing that and nowhere was that an intuitive jump. We were even told by management that the owners used to have signs posted by the entrance to the houses but had removed them for some unknown reason. After spending almost $40 a piece, we were told there was no way to go back through the houses without paying for a reup ticket. However, not only had we originally purchased fast passes, but the line had grown exponentially longer since we had first arrived, so this "solution" felt implausible. We returned to the box office to get refunds and were told they don't offer those. The best the manager could do for us was awkwardly escort us through the backstage of the houses into the secret bars and lurk in the corner waiting for us to sit and finish our drinks. If it had been explicitly stated anywhere how this secret bar package worked, we would have taken it on the chin. But considering how poorly this was advertised, the "solution" we were offered was extremely unsatisfactory. It also didn't help that the manager seemed to be very displeased with having to assist us on an issue we had no part in creating. Overall, I would not recommend wasting...
Read moreHonestly? Pretty disappointed! It was my first time here and ive heard so many good things, and i was surprised that the experience left a lot to be desired, especially for the price tag! I paid 115 dollars for two general admission tickets, and two tickets to the clown chaos haunt. Already expensive, but I figured its a really popular place so it must be worth it! No. There were very few scare actors the entire time. The animatronics were nice, obviously very detailed and expensive, but part of what makes a good haunt is audience interaction, and you only get so much of that with plastic. Real people, real scare actors, can make or break a haunt. The ambient noise was so loud that the loud jumpscares barely had an effect because they couldnt really reach above the other noises being played. It removed the jump part of jumpscare. The haunts are short and it definitely feels like youre just rushed through. The butcher haunt and the clown haunt left much to be desired due to design and size, not the actors. The actors were amazing. These two haunts were pretty bare, repetitive, and not super engaging. The first haunt was okay, the decor and animateonics were of quality, but it wasnt scary. More like a spooky art piece than a haunted house. The only one i was mostly happy with was the 2nd haunt, because that one used scents to set a scene, had more scare actors, and the ambient sounds were quiet enough that the jumpscares actually got you. But being pleased with one ten minute attraction isnt worth 115 dollars for two tickets.
Most of the employees were okay, but there were a couple that absolutely acted like they didnt want to be there at all. There were a few shining stars, specifically a few employees at the beginning of lines and entrances! If i could have interacted with them the entire time, i would have been happy. There are absolutely amazing actors and they deserve that recognition.
At the end of the day, this has a great set up, they obviously have a lot of money to design it, and someone is passionate about desiging these scenes, but its lacking soul. Its lacking genuine interaction. Get more scare actors. Fill that place up with scare actors, and then it will be worth the price tag!! I really really wanted to...
Read moreVery mediocre experience, in all honesty. We paid 100$ each for the VIP/platinum tickets. When we arrived, i was turned away at the gate for "facepaint" in an extremely rude manner. We explained to the gate guard that I wasn't wearing face paint that it's just the color of my foundation, I'm very pale and a had just had surgery a few days ago and was off my pain meds for this, so I was probably extra white? I'm not sure. Otherwise, my makeup was fairly normal with black lipstick and minimal eyeliner. We kept asking to have the manager come out since we had already pre purchased tickets. The woman at the gate just refused to get the manager, and another man at the gate just kept saying, "It says on the website no face paint!" They kept saying i needed to wash it off, but we also just drove from the springs, and i didn't have wipes or anything. At last, when we refused to leave, they got the manager, and she let us in no problem, so i am thankful for that, at least.
The tiki bar was a cool experience. The 2 houses were fine. I appreciated the decor and themes, but it reminded me of halloween horror nights at Universal, where they kind of conga line you in. It kind of takes away from the scare factor.
The escape room was fine. it took us about 30 seconds to get out. Axe throwing was fun! The guy running it was super cool and taught us how to throw it properly.
The zombie shooting game was so awkward. You just unload on these guys walking around in costume in the range area. It felt like bullying.
Overall, if we went back, we would probably just do regular admission. It was nice skipping the line as a VIP, but it was not worth the price.
We went on a Sunday night at 630pm.
I attached a picture of the controversial...
